Lords Central Hotel

The only thing nice about this hotel is the Parsi Food that we enjoyed - with delicious dishes and enjoyable desserts. They have Buffet Meals ONLY on weekends ( Sat - Sunday) On all the other days the meals are a set menu - but you can ask for more, if you wish.

1. The first grouse is that the Hotel DOES NOT ACCEPT Credit / Debit Cards in spite of it being mentioned on the Booking.com web site! (They blame it on poor communications setup.) 2. Wifi is only available in the common area - and that too Internet goes very slow. 3. Standard Rooms are pokey and gloomy. The bathroom is about 75% in area of the Bedroom! 4. No toileteries! No daily room cleaning. No intercom. A single tiny ( Rs.5) piece of Medimix soap was given for 2 people for our entire stay of 4 days.

The rooms were very good and clean.The food served was very tasty and of Good quality.All the staff including the owner Mrs Zenobia Lords was very friendly and cooperative.We enjoyed the stay and the food was so tasty that we never thought of going out for Breakfast,Lunch and dinner during our 2 days stay at Lords.

There was nothing to be disliked.

The bigger problem is not Lord's Hotel, but booking.com. After a disastrous stay in Rome (Vatican) reserved through booking.com (imagine a hotel with zero staff, no WIfi, no promised breakfast or coffee, no soap and inability to open windows -- despite a 110 nightly charge) after several complaints, booking.com gave me a contemptuous $ 25 "coupon." I could not use this so-called coupon despite two attempts, including Lord's hotel. I was induced to make the Matheran reservation with this inducement. But even at the very end -- before paying -- booking.com gives no indication that the $ 25 cannot be used. This is deceptive behavior, and contemptuous towards customers by booking.com

The view was really amazing especially since the sunrise was visible from just out of the house with a mountain view(I paid extra for this view). Incredible stay and spacious room was provided to me. Thank you for the services.

While checking out I forgot my ring on the wash basin but the cleaner cleaned the area and she might have found the ring but she refused to accept her fault. At last after an hour the owner interfered in between she came and gave to the owner stating that the ring had fallen in the dustbin that was a really bad experience of the cleaning lady. The owner was very cooperative and helpful for me in the whole process but I am sure the local people there should understand the importance of providing the best services to customers. Apart from this incident the rest of the stay was amazing.

Location, staff and cleanlines

Loved the old and antique feeling, but furnitures could have been better and upgrade would make it more comfortable and feel good.
