Pause By The Sea

All the staff were so friendly and helpful. I have to eat gluten free and they went out of their way to make sure that I had suitable options both at breakfast and for evening meals in their restaurant. Which are very tasty. They cleaned our room very well. And supplied bottled water. The hotel opens straight on to the beach. There's a small pool which has some shade. It was great to be able sit on the verandah and work using WiFi.

Staff was truly exceptional - Prachi from the front desk really impressed us with her making our stay and celebrating a milestone birthday truly exceptional. Food at Uma was delicious. The rooms were very nice. Beach is very accessible.

I was expecting the beachfront to be a lot cleaner - while the hotel was great the beach outside was not which was disappointing as the main purpose of booking a beachfront hotel is to enjoy the beach. Also the term resort hotel is misleading as it’s actually a hotel and not a resort, I was expecting more things to do within the hotel premises. Since there aren’t many things easily walkable due to the narrow access road, it will be good to have more things to do in the hotel. Given this, I felt the hotel to be quite overpriced since it’s priced like a resort with the amenities of a hotel.

Our room was cleaned well each day, the shower was really good, it was all close to the beach, it was a little dark, and not really possible to sit on our balcony as too many mosquitoes.Their restaurant, Uma by the Sea, had the better location...right on the beach. They had an OK breakfast, fabulous pizzas, but overall, the menu was quite expensive for the standard of the food.

The bed was quite narrow, the pool was more of a paddling pool (!), but the LOUD, LOUD music that was played in the restaurant around the clock was unbearable. The staff were amenable to lowing the volume at breakfast; however, the ambience felt more like a nightclub than a restaurant and it was not possible to have a conversation while eating, so apart from dinner our night of arrival, we left the hotel to eat so we could also enjoy each other's company. The woman in the reception was absolutely lovely, and was very helpful arranging taxis for us.
