The Village Bunaken

An oasis of comfort. Intimate little village of cabins where the atmosphere and service made us feel like it was a home away from home.

Unless you like diving or snorkelling, your options for leisure are limited

The location is wonderful ! We love that place with the little beau with the magic view on the mangrove and the the sea witch so clear is ! The riff is in front of your nice house with veranda and hammock where we relaxe for ours . But it was not only the village .. the most important thing there is also the crew , Angi, Bullah and Lady .. they smiled out of their hearts , they song together the whole day and they really like to work with the guests , you feel that ! The food was delicious prepaird by the mother from Angi and she even bakes bread for the guests every day , wich you can taste ! The trips are well organised and we saw so much under the water , the fishes/ sharks / turtles and the coral here are magic ! And the greatest gift of all were the dolfins , they played and swim under our boat ! We even saw them in front of Bunaken village but we have to warn everybody , this is not common and we are very lucky because of that ! The dive staff is very professional , the owner give us very good advice ! We had an amazing time in village Bunaken and we are very grateful that we could stay there for 4 nights .

To go away and stay 1 night in ( crowded ) manado because we have to catch our flight to early ..

Nice and luxurious bungalow and nice swimming pool. also the hotel is located in front of a beautiful house reef.

The resort is quite expensive for the level of service that they offer. There were not enough sunbeds on the beach and in the afternoon there was a group practicing their scuba skills in the swimming pool so we couldn't make use of it. The food is nice, but considering the price my expectations were a lot higher.

the location is beautiful! The property and cabins are very nice although a bit old. The mangrovia trees and snorkeling also beautiful

The entrance to the sea is very difficult due to the mangrovia trees and nobody tells you how to do it better or from where. There was nobody in charge on Sunday (the receptionist was off and the other ones were out diving) and the employees that were on duty did not speak english (just a few words). You get the food at 13 and 18:30, the employees put the food on the table at that time and if you arrive even 10 minutes late everything is cold, dinner should be from 18:30 to 19:30 but at 19:00 is all finished as the give you everything together, seems they do not really want to work "late"

Great staff, facilities and location.

The food could perhaps be improved with more variety and local seafood. The mats on sun beds be cleaner.

The resort is organized in different cabins and the village is really cosy. We really liked the shared spaces as well. The food was incredibly good and they had options for vegetarians or people with allergies. The staff was really helpful and super nice. The coral reef right in front of the resort was our highlight.

There is not enough electricity for the AC, but it is manageable with the fan.

The bungalow was clean and confortable. The food was good (breakfast, lunch and diner) with nice portions. The staff was very nice. It was very easy and convenient to organise diving excursions and courses.

The photos are misleading, especially regarding the pool and restaurant. Expect a very very small pool and the restaurant was not as warm and welcoming as in the photos, it’s actually more of a cafeteria where the menu is fixed and served at fixed hours (cannot order something else). There are only a few sunbeds that are often all taken. We found that this place was a bit expensive for what it offers. During checkout we discovered hidden fees. Also, no AC in the bedrooms, just a fan, so some nights were very hot.

Outstanding staff, awesome PADI Dive Center

The reef at the hotel (5-10 minute swim) is really beautiful so location is very good. Great snorkeling all day. Nice staff members and good food (it's a set menu). The room is nice with a good bed, hot water and a fridge. (When i was there the safe could not be used because they lost the master key).

I got the feeling that this place was about the money. More expensive than anywhere else in Indonesia where I visited. For transport to and from the hotel I had to pay 680.000 one way; if you can, organize it by yourself; I'm sure it can be arranged cheaper. Massages also more expensive than elsewhere. On booking.com, they say it's all inclusive, but it is full board. Drinks are not included except for water, coffee and tea. There is a limited choice other drinks that you have to pay for.
