Dirty carpets in communal areas and room, dirty sofa. Poorly cleaned leisure facilities including showers, sauna, outside jacuzzi. Bad odour. Poor quality badly cooked food. No atmosphere anywhere presented more like a hostel rather than a 4 star luxury spa as was indicated.

Clean, spacious and had everything we needed

The location is beautiful. The accommodation, leisure experience, spa facilities and restaurant are all excellent. Staff in the restaurant are all very friendly and the food is good. The treatments in the spa were all excellent.

The staff on the leisure experience reception did not tell me about the upstairs spa facilities at all. I was taken to the waiting area upstairs, but I did not know that the spa changing area and spa facilities existed upstairs until another guest told me on my final day. By then I had had 3 spa treatments and a Reiki session. I thought that there were just treatment rooms upstairs. I enjoyed the spa after my massage on the Friday, but missed out on 2 free sessions that I was eligible for in relation to my 2 other treatments (a facial and the seaweed wrap). I also booked the massage on Friday 15th May at the leisure experience reception when a 20% discount should have been applied (this was advertised on Facebook on that day but I didn't see it until after my session). I explained all the above to the receptionist when I handed my key in. She said that I would receive an email about it and that I should get the 20% discount. I still haven't received an email 3 weeks later.

Stunning location. Comfortable beds, lots of fresh breakfast options. Great breakfast service.

Buzzing noise through the room at the Lodge, all night ( possibly from the maintenance room) loud enough to disrupt sleep. Our toilet was blocked and needed to be flushed several times but the water was rising almost over the seat! This was reported the next morning but received with moderate interest and no apology. Reception phoned me to confirm our arrival time but failed to mention they leave at 6pm. I waited 20 mins at check in as 2 members of staff walked past me. It was 7pm so hardly late. Finally I was told reception closed at 6pm so I had to seek out restaurant staff to help me with room keys.. a little chaotic and unhelpful. Booking for breakfast which was included seems a little unusual.. we were offered 8 am or 10am, took the 8am slot but guests walked in continuously for the hour we were there. It all took the edge off our stay.

Minor thing, my daughter forgot to bring shampoo and conditioner and she commented you would normally expect that in most hotels.
