Kuru Resort

KURU resort is absolutely one of the most wonderful places I have ever been to! Beautiful view from the room, private sauna in the room, and the opportunity to use the outdoor sauna with direct access to the lake. Very good restaurant. Breakfasts delivered directly to the room. The car parking is separated from the area with the cottages, which I think is a great solution.

- The winter landscape in the whole resort was stunning, views from the cabin overlooking the lake were spectacular. - The cabin is exactly like in the photos, fresh and new, spacious with nice amentities. - Solitaire restaurant food and overall experience were great, even if on the expensive side. - The breakfast brought to the cabin was great as well. - The reception staff were very helpful for all our needs.

- The cabin is heated via AC and ventilation which was on the loud side, and it was never quite warm enough. - We did utilize the fireplace, but we ran out of gas relatively quickly, and when the staff came to refill it on the second day, they left it more than half empty, so again, we ran out quickly. - The balcony door was drafty, which could be felt from the bed. - The bed was slanted and it gave my husband a backache. - Based on our experience, we would recommend skipping the (extra cost) lakeside sauna + hot tub. - For our second night we went to get dinner at the sister resort Järvisydän's Fire kitchen, definitely not worth it. - No car heaters were available for the parking next to the cabins, so we had to start our car in quite cold temperatures several times during our stay.

Communication was a struggle with the hotel staff. Arranging dinner reservations, etc. always seemed to go wrong. Would highly recommend confirming plans multiple times so there are no failed attempts (e.g., with their breakfast system, where the spa is located: this hotel is split across multiple locations, and it is not always clear what is where / when).

This was probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. Villas by the lake are so lovely, we have enjoyed it so much that this is the first time we didn’t want to leave the accomodation. Breakfast they bring you is also lovely, the staff is lovely, you can try yoga or siesta classes… Dinner in Solitairy restaurant was an amazing experience. 10/10
