We had a wonderful stay at the Windermere estate hotel. The location is beautiful, the food was some of the best we had in southern India and the staff were lovely. Particular highlight for us was borrowing the bikes to go cycling around. 10/10.

The estate is located at an ideal distance away from the bustling Munnar town. It is far enough for one to enjoy the tranquility yet near enough to easily get into the town if necesary. I could dropped my luggage at the reception while I went for a hike in the morning before I checked in. Service was attentive, warm and friendly. The estate kindly upgraded my 1st floor garden room to the 2nd floor spacious estate room with a view over the tea plantation. Love the hot tea and snack served in the evening especially during a cold rainy day. The door mat outside my room seemed to be a favourite spot of the estate friendly dog. She was always lying there quietly when I open my door and followed the group around during the plantation walk. The guided walk around the cardamom and peper plantation owned by the estate was educational. Our guide was looking out to see if the elderly in the group had difficulties following and made adjustment along the way. The dinner decided by the chef was wonderful especially the fried lamb. Although the sky was overcasted with slight drizzle in the day with heavy downpour in the night, Windermere estate is the perfect place to be stranded in such weather after some tiring Munnar explorations. The thoughtful staff also insisted we took the large umbrella to our rooms which turned out to be useful as the rain resumed during dinner time.

10 out of 10. I chose this hotel becuz of many good review. But it was worth it. We stayed 2nights. Staff's hospitality was awesome. All hotel staff are nice and ready to help us always. Specailly, Chef jesu, photographer Akashi, and general manager! thank you so much. I wanna come back to munnar, Becuz of this hotel! I didn't know this hotel have many programme. We enjoyed cardamom trekking. And everyday, there is tea time so enjoyed chai and coffee! It was my best memory ! thank you so much . i love this hotel so much
