Windermere Estate

The most perfect stay at a truly unique, charming, authentic estate. Not just a stay but lots of activities included, home in the plantation, morning bird watching and tea tasting sessions. Truly the best South Indian cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the chef was amazing and every meal comes to speak with you. The staff were wonderful. Cannot recommend Windermere enough.

We enjoyed the activities offered by the hotel and particularly appreciated the tour with Ansel who showed us the local fauna and flora. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful! Overall the grounds were beautiful and the food was freshly made a delicious! Clean and cozy rooms too with great views on the surrounding hills.

No beers available at the restaurant but we've learned that Kerala hotels are mostly dry.

The location is beautiful amongst a Cardamom plantations and surrounded by tea estates. Super staff : kind, efficient and helpful. The meals at the barn were very tasty. The in-house activities with a naturalist were enjoyable. Not to mention the high tea in the afternoon.

Nothing

Still a classic in Munnar. Comfortable cottages, a lovely view, good food. Nothing has changed in 15 years and probably more - and hopefully nothing will!

Food is filling, but could a bit better.

We loved the views and quietness of the hotel and the walks offered. All staff lovely, breakfast was especially good served outside if you liked.

Room was comfortable but should have had a fridge given that the hotel isn’t licensed. They will keep for you in their fridge and deliver but for convenience it should be in the room. Not many sunloungers round pool and a little uncomfortable
