Visiwa Beach Resort

Boutique hotel raffinato e arredato con pezzi esotici di ottimo gusto. La posizione del Visiwa è perfetta con spiaggia privata, con security, e Isola dell'Amore di fronte. La cucina ottima, capitanata dello chef italiano Diego, ha soddisfatto a pieno le nostre aspettative: colazione abbondante e varia con frutta fresca tagliata al momento, menu alla carte e pizza squisita. Lo staff simpatico e accogliente ci ha accudito e coccolato in ogni momento. Ci siamo sentiti a casa pur con tutto il sapore dell'Africa!

The coffee (americano ect) is not part of the breakfast. You need to pay extra for it which does not make sense.

The location on the rocks facing the islands is breathtaking. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the food was good and the whole premises were well kept, clean and fine tuned. There was always availability of the gazebos and sunbeds to rest and enjoy. The fresh tropical fruit and fruit juices were amazing, we couldn’t have enough. Kudos to management for running a tight ship and going above and beyond. We had a great stay!

Sometimes the hot water took time to arrive or wasn’t available to shower. Also, not the property’s fault, but unfortunately there were so many beach boys approaching and bothering us any time we stepped onto the beach, which was quite annoying. However this is applicable to any property on coastal Kenya.

AC hat im ersten Zimmer nicht funktioniert, Reparatur wurde nicht gemacht - Zimmerwechsel erst bei zweiter Anfrage möglich, dann jedoch mit schlechterer Aussicht Sehr viele Algen am Strand und im Meer, Strand wird nicht gereinigt

Location was great, rooms are spacious and clean with balconies and aircon. Room cleaning was excellent too. The beachfront was probably the best we have been to with amazing views and at low tide it is possible to walk to several offshore islands. The Italian owner is always around and generally friendly and approachable. It is great value for money and definitely recommended for a couple or families with teenagers or older children.

We have been holidaying annually in December, on the Kenyan East Coast since 2021. The food took absolutely ages to serve - 40-50 minutes at times. On the second occasion, I even fell asleep waiting for food to be served in the evening. It was also of varying quality so after two tries we just walked to neighbouring resort restaurants that were much better (Papa Remo’s and Tamu next to Visiwa) and served food much faster even though they were far busier. We did try and let the Visiwa owner know, but he seemed happy with his restaurant food and service, so I guess guests can decide for themselves. In general we came with young children, but this is a place better suited for adults as there isn’t much for them to do apart from a pool and the beach, but this isn’t really a criticism of the property itself. The pool was advertised on a notice at the reception to be open from 8am to 5:30pm but generally was not ready until nearer 9am and closed at 5pm. The pool was also definitely not as clean as the previous places we have been to.
