Elounda Bay Palace, a Member of the Leading Hotels of the World

Traumhafte Anlage und sehr gepflegt. Wir hatten eine luxury Suite im Haupthaus mit wunderschöner Aussicht auf die Bucht.

Für 5 Sterne Leading of the World war das Selbstbedienungsrestaurant für Frühstück und Abendessen leider unterdurchschnittlich. Speisen waren ok aber gibt's so auch bei 4 Sterne Hotel. Personal war zudem überfordert dort, obwohl sie nur abräumen und Getränke bringen mussten. Von den 10 Abendessen gingen wir daher zweimal nach Elounda (Ferryman) und dreimal in ein Themen Restaurant in der Anlage. Zudem musste in den ersten Tagen viermal an der Rezeption reklamiert werden, weil die Kaffekapseln und oder Kaffeerahm vom Roomservice nicht aufgefüllt wurden.

The grounds and the beach was beautiful.

The rooms are outdated.

There was a leak in the toilet and it wasn't fixed although the staff said they fixed it.

The hotel cannot really be considered a 5 star. The food was just ok, with little variety from one day to the next. The buffet lacked decoration, felt dark, and did not have the refinement expected in a 5 star. The rooms were simple and not well decorated. The location was far from everything, making it necessary to rent a car. Mornings were noisy because doors had to be slammed to close. The property felt a bit old and in need of renovation The sauna was very small, and you had to rely on a buggy to go to another complex to use it. Prices at the bar were quite expensive. After staying at another 5 star hotel in Crete, the comparison made it very clear that this hotel is not truly a 5 star
