Elounda Bay Palace, a Member of the Leading Hotels of the World

Чистая вода. Удобно для семей с детьми. Комфортная температура воздуха позволяла проводить на пляже весь световой день. Бесплатная парковка. Завтраки и Ужины были очень вкусные и разнообразные. Порядок. Очень дисциплинированный персонал.

Номера были меньше чем мы ожидали. Кровати не очень удобные. Отель устаревший. Цены особенно в ресторанах были в полтора раза выше чем за пределами. Да, и как написал другой гость "есть WI-FI которого нет")))

Das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und extrem kinderfreundlich. Unser erstes Zimmer war sehr schlecht aufgeteilt, wir konnten aber ohne Probleme und Aufpreis das Zimmer am zweiten Tag wechseln. Das Zimmer wurde mehrmals täglich gereinigt. Der Strand ist sauber und das Wasser glasklar. Es gibt einen netten Pool für Kinder und auch der große Pool ist nett. Da unser Flug am Abreisetag erst spät abends ging, konnten wir Übergangszimmer ohne Aufpreis nutzen

Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig, man hört jedes kleinste Geräusch. Der Lift ist wirklich alt und sehr gefährlich, er schließt die Türen auch wenn sich ein Gegenstand, eine Hand oder ähnliches dazwischen befindet, finde ich vor allem mit Kindern extrem problematisch. Abgesehen von den Zimmern ist die Anlage sehr alt und in die Jahre gekommen. Die Liegen am Pool und am Strand werden sehr früh reserviert, man hat mit Kind kaum die Chance einen Platz im Schatten zu bekommen. Die Liegen am Pool sind sehr alt und sollten dringend erneuert werden. Die Preise sind unverschämt teuer z.B. Coke 5€, Magnum Eis 6€, Kaffee : 8€, Bier 8€ Das Buffet am Abend ist sehr international, nicht gut gewürzt, alles schmeckt gleich, wir haben das Buffet nur einmal besucht ansonsten sind wir in die Stadt zum Abendessen gegangen.

The hotel had good location.

Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. This hotel is marketed and priced as a 5-star resort, but in reality, it feels more like a 2-3 star property that hasn’t seen a proper update in decades. The hotel was built in 1971 and last renovated in 2004 according to sources online — and it shows. The photos on Booking.com are misleading and do not reflect the current condition of the property. We felt deceived, having paid premium prices for what turned out to be a very outdated and poorly maintained hotel. There is no proper reception entrance — guests must leave their bags and walk through a bad odor basement-like hallway to reach the main desk, which itself looks very dated. The welcome consisted of water from thermos and juice from cartons. Unpleasant sewer odors, are noticeable in many areas of the hotel including around the reception and pool area. The rooms are similarly tired and worn. Our bathroom had moldy smells, peeled wallpaper, missing tiles, and dim lighting (to hide these flaws). Mosquito net torn, soundproofing was non-existent. Woken at 3am by noise from a neighboring room and had to ask them to keep quiet. The condition of the public areas was equally poor. The hallways are covered with stained old carpeting. Worse still, we saw hotel staff smoking in the the hotel corridors in the morning. Breakfast and buffet dinner was served in an area that looked stuck in the 1990s, with sticky floors, outdated dark brown armchairs, and chipped serving plates. Flies were all over the place. The food itself was average at best. To conclude, after my stay I noticed other many low 1-star reviews like mine. Guests posting feedback so the hotel can improve but the hotel takes no action still. Overall, Elounda Bay Palace does not live up to its 5-star label in any way. It does not feel like staying in a member of the Leading Hotels of the World as well. This experience left us disappointed and feeling misled by photos taken from 2004.
