La Estoria, Goa - IHCL SeleQtions

From the time we entered this property we felt taken care of. The staff is very helpful and ultra responsive. Whatever we asked for from the housekeeping, came within minutes and very fast. As we entered we were welcomed in a true Goan style with violin and guitar playing just for us. The welcome drink was very refreshing and available throughout the day at the reception. We left our 8 year old kid with the swimming pool attendant and he took really good care without us worrying about our kid. The rooms have pool view so very good experience of sitting in the patio and watching the pool. Our rooms were really big. There is no restriction of ordering water, they will provide how much ever you need. So summer was taken care of. The location of this hotel is not road facing, you need to walk for 7 min to reach the main Candolim road. The beach is again some 15 min walk from the hotel. Car park is inside their hotel itself, so no need to worry about your car. Overall a very good experience with family.

Would have loved if their restaurant had pizza although it was in the menu but when we were there it was available. We were travelling with our mother who is a senior citizen, and the lifts dont open to the floor, there are some 6-7 steps in between which was a bit difficult to manage every time. We would have preferred a room closer to the lift or ground floor, to avoid senior citizen to walk a lot to reach the rooms each time we went out and came back.

We had my brother’s engagement at La Estoria and were successfully able to host the most dreamlike and perfect engagement event at the dining area! A big thank you to Mr. Sanjoy for being so kind and helpful and helping us make our vision into reality! He even took extra effort of being in touch with us even on his day off, just to make it a memorable experience for us! Mr Praveen was incharge on the day of the event and made sure everything was on point along with Mr. Sanjoy! Special mention to all the people at the front desk for being so helpful and answering our queries/helping us with ideas as well - especially Ms. Ankita! The location was so beautiful - thank you La Estoria’s entire team!

La Estoria doesn’t just give you a room — it hands you a prologue. The property reads like a love letter to Indo-Portuguese Goa. Hand-painted tiles that have seen more sunsets than me. Arched corridors where your footsteps echo. Rooms that smell like old wood and new beginnings. Mine had a writing desk by the window, and I actually used it — that’s how much the place slows you down. Service was IHCL sharp but with a Goan shrug. Not formal, just there when you need them. Asked for directions to a hidden bakery — got a hand-drawn map and a “tell them Miguel sent you” with a wink. Food: if Goa had a memory, it would taste like their prawn balchão. Ate bebinca by the pool at 4 PM and questioned all my life choices that led me to eat dessert anywhere else. This isn’t party-Goa. This is sit-on-your-balcony-with-a-book-and-listen-to-the-rain-on-tile-roofs Goa. La Estoria is for people who collect moments, not just Instagram spots. Check-in with luggage, check-out with stories.

The hotel is located very close to the Candolim beach. It has many shacks and good restaurants around. The hotel itself is a great property. Great staff, polite and helpful. Their food is good. Pool is amazing. The breakfast spread is limited, but satiating. Since it is not a very huge property, and the interiors give you a large Portuguese home feel, it feels very relaxed and homely. Make sure to do your airport pick and drop booking in advance as there is no Ola etc and Goa Miles and the likes also cancel at the last minute.

The lobby has alot of mosquitos. May be if you can pls place repellants, because it is a lovely place to sit and relax.
