We enjoyed our stay at Girilena a lot. The host family is very warm and welcoming. We were offered a little welcome come drink (juice) on arrival. Room was spacious with a double bed and an additional single bed for the 4 of us with basic amenities such as kettle with tea and coffee. We enjoyed the homemade breakfast and dinner cooked by our hosts which gave us a glimpse into local Sri Lankan cuisine. Delicious. The Dambulla cave temple is just a 10-15 min walk away and one can enjoy stunning sunset views from the rock right across the small local street of the guesthouse. To get to the center of Dambulla, one may need a Tuk Tuk but the owner is happy to help with any request (thank you again for getting us a beer from the store). A drop-off at the bus stand was no problem. It’s a lovely and warm family and our kids enjoyed to play along with their boys in the garden.

Very nice place and extremely friendly happy and helpfull family that runs the hotel. Vo{ery good breakfast! It is just best value for money possible in this area!

liked everything, clean room, very quiet and cozy, the owner is very responsive and tried to help with everything, took us to the hotel. national delicious breakfast. 10 minutes to the cave temple.

The house is just a piece of paradise in the nature. The family who hosted us was the sweetest family on earth. They made us feel at home!♥️

The apartment was really good and clean.Not only the room but also the surrounding was amazing.The host was very kind and helpful.The view of the rock and lake was absolutely eye catching .That was the best memory we collected.Highly recommended this apartment and the location for any one who likes to enjoy their leisure time in a beautiful, calm and mind relaxing place.Thank you host for your valuable hospitality.Hope to come again.👌

We had a lovely time in the tree house. The owners of the homestay are so friendly and caring people. We enjoyed delicious Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner, they prepared for us in the middle of the garden while we were watching the monkeys chasing each other. Also, on the rock next to the house, you can see the sunset and have a great view, you can even see the lion rock of Sigiria in the distance.  We loved that place.
