I love phants Lodge

Prachtige accommodatie met uitzicht op olifanten en gibbon-islands. ‘s Ochtends werden we gewekt door het getrompetter van olifanten en het gezang van de gibbons. Heel leuk om een dagtocht over het terrein van de Foundation te doen. Indrukwekkend en soms hartverscheurende verhalen over de geredde dieren. Hier wordt zulk goed werk gedaan. Fijn om hier als toerist een kleine bijdrage aan te kunnen leveren. Mooie kamers. Heel vriendelijk personeel. Gezellig restaurant met fijn terras en een goede keuken. Lekker zwembad. En wat een rust.

Zeer indrukwekkende plek. Je zit dicht op de olifanten, maar in de opvang hebben ze nog duizenden dieren meer. Deze zijn gered van mishandeling of opsluiting. Doe zeker de tour op het complex. Personeel is echt fantastisch. En het eten is ook top

Alles beviel. Alleen de douche gaf weinig wat.

Where to start, what an amazing place. We hadn't researched it very much and assumed it was predominantly an elephant sanctuary but it's so much more. They have (currently) over 900 rescued animals covering (if I remember correctly) 36 species. The elephants are of course amazing and as we had selected a pool bungalow we could watch some of the elephants and a family of gibbons from our terrace / pool which never got old. It is possible to go on a tour of the WFFT facilities which is an absolute must, the morning does involve quite a bit of walking but it is very much worth it with our tour guide knowledgeable and passionate about the animals. The staff were also friendly superb, we asked them about a couple of things we'd like to do and they arranged the trips to suit us (these were bespoke trips, one of which we had a driver for the day) and we really got the feeling nothing was too much trouble. My compliments goes out to Edwin (the founder) who has done an amazing job of combining a sanctuary and a holiday place.

I'm sure there were details which may have been improved on but I cannot think of anything, the only thing my wife and I didn't like was having to leave.

Die Tiere, das Wildlifeprojekt und die sehr engagierte und lehrreiche Ganztagesführung. Gutes authentisches Essen, sehr gutes Obst, gute Buffetauswahl zum Frühstück.

Empfang mäßig enthusiastisch, Zimmerbeschreibung gemäß Buchung mit Poolblick und Seeblick, anstatt dessen über 400m von Lounge/Restaurant entfernt...auch von Lake oder Pond nix zu sehen, was kein Problem wäre, wenn es vorher ehrlich beschrieben worden wäre, Zimmerservice rudimentär, keine frischen Handtücher, Außendusche unsauber und ohne Abflusssieb (also besser nix fallen lassen), wegen der hineinfallenden Blätter verstopft, Betten werden nicht gemacht, schmutziges Waschbecken, Pool unattraktiv, keine Handtücher, zu wenige oder defekte Liegen, gesamte Anlage eher kasernenartig und schmucklos, was nur z.T. den trutzigen Zäunen und Schutzmauern wegen der Wildtiere geschuldet ist. Wir haben Lodges in Afrika und Südamerika gesehen, wo Wildtierbeobachtung und geschmackvolle Gartenanlagen entsprechend der überbordenden Botanik nahtlos zusammenfanden. Kein Shuttleservice zum nahegelegenen Dorf.

The lodge was in a lovely setting with the animals easy to view. It was a bit of walking distance to the dining hall, but that worked out fine since we were all mobile. At night when it was dark, we were able to get rides back to the room with a staff member on a golf cart, which was great.

Language barrier was a bit difficult and the kitchen took a long time to let us know our orders were not available. Also, one night it took over half an hour to get our meals. I would say the weak spot of this lodge is the restaurant.

Amazing and unique location on the edge of the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand reserve . Very comfortable room with large balcony overlooking the reserve . Stayed in a forest room about 3 mins golf buggy ride ( which you ring for and the staff are excellent at coming when requested , if you don’t want to walk ) to the main lodge , bar , pool and restaurant . There are also rooms above the restaurant and by the pool . Watched elephants from the balcony , lots of different birds and tortoises underneath . You can hear the gibbons calling each other too which is pretty cool . Watching the wildlife ( gibbons, elephants , monitor lizard, birds ) from the restaurant , bar and pool is just fabulous . A definite must do is a day tour of the reserve which provides an understanding of the aims and amazing, inspiring work of the Foundation ( staying in the lodge also helps support the Foundation ) and a tour of the rescued animals / birds , many of which cannot be released back into the wild , but which are provided with a much better life than they have known previously . If you love nature and wildlife staying here is a must do or even if you just want a relaxing , special break away from bustling towns or the beach this is the place to come . The food was excellent with an extensive menu , and the staff were all very helpful , polite and efficient . I must say a particular thank you to the proprietor who personally arranged a last minute private tour to the amazing Kaeng Krachan national park .We would love to stay here again .

Nothing , can’t praise them enough

The accommodation, food, swimming pool and tour were all amazing. The whole experience was one I have been recommending to friends.

The pillows in the room were not comfortable for me personally and it took us a while to figure out how to turn the bright AC light off. Very small details.
