We stayed at Atha for 3 nights while in Sigiriya and we found it the perfect base for sightseeing. Our arrival was very welcoming and check in was smooth. We had a pool villa for our stay, which was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The gorgeous pool was very welcome to cool down in after a long day looking at all the fabulous things in the area. We had the majority of our meals at the resort and they were without exception delicious, particularly the local cuisine. The very special Sri Lankan breakfasts and the curry with veggie curry sides were some of our favourite meals we had while in Sri Lanka. The staff were all amazing and went out of their way to assist in any way they could - unfortunately we can't remember everyone's names but the waiters were standout! One side note is that this hotel is in a very countryside area so do expect some bugs and lizards. We found that leaving the aircon on stopped things coming inside the villa. If you're staying in Sigiriya I highly recommend staying at Atha.

Gorgeous environment and lovely spacious modern rooms. The bed was very comfortable too. We loved the pool and the breakfasts were delicious. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

Schönes und sehr gepflegtes Hotel. Pool war sehr gut und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und zu vorkommend. Frühstück und Abendessen ist ebenfalls sehr gut.

Amazing helpful staff with amazing locations

Definitely not a resort

We've stayed in budget, mid-range and a few high end hotels all over the world... and the Atha Resort is one of the nicest we've ever been to: design, comfort, setting, hospitality, quality, professionalism, friendliness. We could rate it more highly.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Atha Resort. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere that feels worlds away from the crowds. It was the perfect place to return to after a day exploring the cultural sites around Sigiriya. What stood out most was the warmth and friendliness of the staff. Everyone was welcoming, attentive and genuinely committed to making guests feel at home. Their hospitality added greatly to the overall experience. The Sri Lankan breakfasts were a particular highlight. Fresh, delicious and beautifully prepared, they provided a wonderful introduction to local flavours and were something I looked forward to each morning. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing resort with lovely gardens, excellent hospitality and authentic Sri Lankan breakfasts, I would happily recommend Atha Resort.

A small information guide or brochures outlining local attractions, tours and experiences like ayurveda treatments would be helpful for guests unfamiliar with the area. An additional chair in the room would also make the space a little more comfortable for longer stays.
