Malapascua Exotic Island Dive Resort

We booked the dive resort but unfortunately for us we ended up diving with another company as the resort didn't have enough people to do the dives on the days we had available. The resort was lovely though - the staff are super friendly. The restaurant is 10/10. We didn't really eat anywhere else as we wanted to try the menu. Our room was at the back and had the roosters going off all hours of the night - not a biggie. The massages here were also really great and worth going to.

Tuna sandwich

Dirty salt water. Water system shut down, room didn't have water for several hours. Food is horrible. Pizza oven does not cook pizza properly. Food horrible. There was raw dough on one of the items we ordered. Mango shake is five dollars but nowhere near worth that price. Other restaurants in the area have better shakes for half the price. Horrible hotel and horrible staff. Very dirty bathroom with mold growing on top of mold. Worst hotel I have ever been to in two decades of travel.

What did I like? Absolutely nothing about this property. The rooms were outdated; the toilet was broken (no water) and not repaired during the three night stay; the dive experiences were awful in part because there were 25 boats (from this and other "resorts" within ten minutes walking distance) each with 15+ guests on each boat. That equates to 375 divers diving every day at any one (very small) dive site. It was ludicrous and completely unmemorable.

Except for restaurant staff (who were clearly overworked and insufficient for Exotic Dive Resort's size), I found the other staff to be not only unattentive but completely unresponsive to guests requests for needs. I was not the only guest to voice that opinion.

Nice location on the beach

Room was dark, damp and windowless and with threadbare towels (and the most expensive on the island). The staff were rude and extremely slow. They overcharged on check out and spent 25 mins fixing it and didn’t even apologise. They charged extra at every turn (extra for toast at breakfast etc!). I emailed them my concerns and they never even bothered responding. If their diving service is anything like their hotel service I would avoid like the plague - I dived next door as didn’t want to take the risk with them given how poor they had been on every other front.

Very clean. Staff are extremely friendly, helpful and nice, shoutout to Jolina from the reception. She truly made our staycation a great experience throughout because of her friendliness, her smile, very accommodating and helpful same as the masseuse Susan, her expertise in her work helped me walking around with out discomfort..

It’s not the property but the boat ride that terrifies me however the staffs are so helpful and truly protective and understanding.

The entire staff..dining and dive shop crew went above and beyond to ensure our stay was an enjoyable experience and our safety was ensured while diving . Special shout to Mr Julius (Dive master), Mr Fredrick ( Dive master in training), Mr Benji (Boat captain) and the Restaurant staff, Ms Edline, Ms Neza, Ms Jackie ,Ms Aileen, Mr Armin and Mr Franz. You guys made the holiday a 5 star experience !!!!!
