Bella Villa Coron

Thoroughly enjoyed each morning with delicious breakfast and great views! Getting a massage onsite after a tour - amazing! The staff were top notch! Helped us with everything from transports, tours and home cooked meals! Hands down our go to place in Coron!

Coron town had blackouts and water shortage, but glad we stayed at Bella Villa with both solar power and deep well.

Staff is helpful, the kitchen looks nice, but we didn't use it. The area itself seems safe, since it is in a complex.

Beds were comfy

- the layout is very odd, its a house converted into multiple units… you have very little privacy and it feels like other guests are your roommates (glass door separating units, open ventilation allowing noise through, it was unclear if the balcony was a shared space or if it belonged to the other group. Regardless we felt uncomfortable using it as you had to go through their living room. - owner is very condescending, if I had read reviews and saw how she handled disagreements I would have not stayed there. Typical case of a landlord thinking she’s on top of the world and that we « should be grateful » for paying her money…. I can’t wait to read her reply to this review - probably insulting me, and not owning any issues - place was dirty, fridge was full of crap, dead bugs in the lights, dust everywhere, catnip hidden all over which attracted a cat (reading the reviews its a rescue cat that is now theirs) - unsure why guest have to deal with their cat…not great when one of us is allergic… - no pressure in the shower, no pool (advertised), laundry machine was broken, no spa (advertised), no restaurant (advertised), no 24/7 service (advertised)…. In fact most of the advertised amenities were not there or broken - emma replied to many negative comments that she would gladly let them check out early if they are unhappy. I guess her « generosity » does not apply in low season… we had to harass her for 3 days to have the green light to check out. - emma was fast to reply to messages when upselling stuff (taxi, bar) but completely ignored any message flagging issues. - the place costs ~300$ or so per day, selling water and local beer in the minibar for 2$ honestly just makes the place look cheap and inhospitable. Doesn’t change the profit margin at all, but gives a bad aftertaste to her guests.

The size, location, and the staff.

Not much I didn’t like except if my mom came along, she would not be able to stay upstairs with us. There is no lift.

Really spacious apartment with three separate bedrooms. Large kitchen, living room and patio to share. Breakfast was good, but they have available only half of the offered menu.

They charged us almost double price for the airport transfer. We paid 2600php but normal price was for our group 1600 as we find out later. Also for the motorbikes they ask 600php and we get bikes for 400php. When they discovered they offered the same price for bikes. Also for the island hopping they offered us a trip for 3500php per person on private boat and we found an offer directly at the pier for 1100php per person. Also they offered us that we can use the swimming pool in the resort oposite the villa for 600php which they told us is the fee for using the pool only. As we later asked directly in the resort the price was 499php including drinks and food in that price so the pool was in fact for free.

The location of the property is a little ways from the center of Coron Town which was a little inconvenient. It’s about a 10min tricycle ride to the town/any food/shopping. This place also has sanitation issues which was hard to over look. The cabinets where the utensils and the dishes are kept has traces of rat poop which was concerning. The bathroom counters had a collection of dead insects by the window which tells we they haven’t been wiped down in a while. Given the location and the heat in the Philippines bugs are hard to avoid but I would say this place was a little excessive.
