Khao Sok Hill Top Resort

best place to stay for a few nights in the jungle. so peaceful and beautiful. delicious food, great facilities and the loveliest staff i’ve ever experienced. professional and helpful. Cop made our trip so worth it, and we miss him already. can only recommend this place for travelers! the resort also helped us with tour booking, and visits to the small town. would go back in a heartbeat

comfy tent in perfect temperature in the night and it's in quite area on the hill. friendly staff and owner. super cheap if you are two people in the small tent. just 200thb each. so some negative things are understandable. but if I paid 400thb for myself, I would choos the other hostels with a/c room in main town or in the mountain area closer to lake.

would be nice with cleaner bathroom or toilet and stronger water pressure from the sink. also want some soap in shower at least. the dog in there was sooo cute!! but smells so bad... he stays in dining area so better shower him! and little far from the other everything. if you join a tour, it's no matter. but if you go around by yourself with motor bike, little far from everything. it would be good ambience if the decoration around is more cute somehow.

Bathrooms could use a bit of refreshing and more amenities. The place is far from the village, you’ll need a taxi to get there.

Staff were lovely and the view was stunning. We were able to book a boat trip through them and a taxi back. Wish we knew to contact them for a taxi on the way as this was a lot cheaper way of doing it! We had difficulty finding someone willing to drive up the very bumpy road on the way! It's about a 40 minute walk into the village and lovely in the morning and evening when it's cooler. The food was also good.

There were no hooks in the bathroom for your towel and clothes, so there wasn't really any place to keep them off the floor unless you put them on the toilet.

Loved this little hill top hideaway. Tent camping at its best if you are visiting Khao Sok. A few min ride into the city and the staff runs taxi there. Excellent scenery and vibes.

You stay in the middle of the jungle in tents, though bathrooms and toilets are available and clean. You can eat at place and food is excellent. Staff is very helpful with visit planning. Though we have not a lot time trip over the Khao Sok lake on long tail boat has been organised perfectly. Also shuttle bus to Phuket airport was in time with good price. In the night you can hear wild animals close to the tent but it's safe as tents are placed on special platforms.

The Resort is on a hill (who would have thought :p) so that it was quiet and peaceful. We slept on a tent, so in the early morning it got a bit cooler, but it was totally ok. Still it would have been nicer to give us two blankets instead of only one for two people. They also had provided a fan, because during the day it gets pretty hot in there. In the morning you get hot water and instant coffee for free.

The location is pretty far from the rest of the town. You either have to walk ~40min from the minivan station or take a taxi for a ridiculous price of 250-300baht. There is no grab available in the town and hitchhiking doesnt take you far, since there is almost nothing else in the area, so there are not a lot of people driving that way. But on the way there, there is a small river so you can stop by and take a break if it gets too hot. They do offer food if you dont want to take the road down to the town to eat something, but I would not suggest it. So be sure to eat something before getting there. There are no markets nearby The 2 bathrooms were pretty basic, no hot water (but during the heat of the day it is better to shower cold anyway), no shampoo/soap and no toilett paper. One of them didnt even have a lock. Depending where your tent is, there is almost no wifi, but in the „main hall“ you get a bit of internet. It is very slow, but better than nothing. For a buffet breakfast (some fruit and scrambled egg +toast) you have to pay 150bt/ person. There is no water refill and a big bottle costs 30bt and a small one 20baht. So if I would have to do it again, I would either book earlier and find a better option in the town or rent a bike and be flexible with going up and down, otherwise it gets tiring and/or expensive very fast. And the road at the end gets pretty rustic, so that‘s why some people refuse to drive you until the entrance.

I loved the peaceful and beautiful location in the middle of the jungle, it felt very authentic. The host family is very kind and helpful and overall there is a very nice atmosphere with them and the other travellers. The family arranged my 2-day-1-night tour of the Cheow Lan Lake for me (the typical Khao Sok experience) (I messaged the hosts a few days in advance to book this).

My mattress / futon in the tent was rather thin. I might have been unlucky as apparently the other tents have better mattresses.
