Seed Resort

The staff were exceptional, so helpful and friendly and their attention to detail was fantastic. The pool was beautiful and clean and the food at the restaurant was above expectations.

We paid $200 a night for a loft room. The location of the room was right on the car park. The rooms were very dark and there was no where comfortable to sit outside. For $200 per night I would have expected hot water and a small fridge in the room. I honestly think there is better value for money at other properties in Nembrala if you are looking for a nice room.

Very comfortable accommodation. Great pool. Nice ambience and made to feel very welcomed.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like

Amazing stay. We were on a long backpacking trip but as a treat we decided to splash out and have some luxury at Seeds. Great food, incredible location. It really felt as if we were in paradise.

Staff are all absolutely lovely Restaurant and food are Fabulous Great coffee and delicious breakfast menu (though just 1 dish and 1 drink only per person included in Breakfast package) Endless fresh drinking water provided without any plastic - wonderful Sustainably-minded and beautfully decorated resort - truly stunning. Beautiful location at high tide, though not near T-Land itself (more on that below). Our room was lovely - though extremely expensive - with aircon only. No ceiling fan, No kettle, No mini fridge Lovely soap, shampoo, conditioner supplied sustainably.

Website is misleading -Still currently states that Wings Air flies daily “Departure Kupang 16:10 hrs
Arrival Rote 16:40 hrs” and is the “quickest, most reliable route to the island” so we took this as fact and purchased our accommodation and international flights before discovering that these flights have not existed for nearly a year. When we therefore needed to change our accommodation booking due to having to add stopover nights in Kupang (both ways) the resort would not let us make the changes (they blamed Booking.com...Booking.com said they could only allow the change if Seed agreed to it…). The boat times are also incorrect on their website as you cannot get back to Kupang in time for the one flight per day from Kupang to DPS. -It says you can paddle straight out to T-Land on high tide, or walk out at low tide, which is why we booked it..but this is grossly exaggerated. Directly in front of the hotel is all seaweed farming so you cannot paddle without risking going over farming posts - nor do I think the villagers would appreciate you walking over their farming.. T-Land surf boats leave from a beach that is a 15-20 minute walk away- or you can pay to hire scooters - to get yourself to the surf boats on the beach from where you need to pay again to get a boat out to the break. Every surf will therefore cost you extra for transport to the beach and out to the break. - No yoga classes at all, despite the website was advertising daily classes at the time. - There is no “nurturing team of Spa therapists”, or “Grounding treatments” or “nature-inspired therapies” as per their website. Just a room with a massage table and they will organise a masseuse from the village if requested. - Bring ear plugs and noise cancelling headphones! The block next door was used for a 4 day non-stop Lutheran festival that blared music and screeching voices all day and ALL night. No one got sleep for those 4 days. Apparently happens often. (This is obv not Seed's fault)

The only lace is amazing, the people who work there are amazingly nice and friendly.

The wifi is very slow and almost non existent at times, the restaurant is always out of fish even though we’re on an island where fish boats and fishermen are 200 m away tops.

The hotel is really pretty. All is very stylish and beautifully decorated. The staff is really nice and helpful. Everything is clean and very trendy. The location is good.

The surf room is very small, we ended up changing, it’s smaller than what it looks like on the photos, not very comfortable. All the other rooms are really comfortable. The hotel is beach front but I thought it was going to be a prettier beach. It really depends on tides and you can’t go swimming very easily. The restaurant food is REALLY GOOD, but it takes ages to deliver food to the table.

Let's start by saying that Rote is a gorgeous island with a gorgeous sea, the location of the hotel is fantastic on this beach full of palm trees, crystal clear water and white sand. The room was very nice with sea view and the bathroom with sanitary ware, illuminated mirror and shower outside very nice and pleasant.

Now let's talk about the management of the hotel, unfortunately it cannot be defined as a 4 star at all. - We arrived and no one showed up to pick up the suitcases and we had to carry them up to the reception given the uneven stone pavement. - We had one of the nicest rooms with breakfast included and found that you could only choose one dish and one drink, the rest was charged to the room. - At lunch and for the 4 days successes (lunch / dinner) we found that they no longer had fish and bananas, which was very strange being on an island, and therefore half of the menu could not be chosen. - The restaurant staff was very kind and helpful but to order most of the time you have to get up and to receive the dishes you had to wait at least 30/40 min. - Last point always confirming that it cannot be defined as a 4 star and that next to one of the most beautiful rooms until late at night you could hear the guys in the kitchen talking and emptying the dishwashers with continuous noise of dishes and glasses

The breakfast was great to have before surfing. I had the power bowl, which was a mixture of peanut butter, and bananas. The rooms were well decorated and comfortable. The staff was top notch, hospitable and friendly. The location of the the hotel is right on the water with an amazing view at sunset, and quiet. Overall I love the place, and would definitely return.

Due to its remote location, be sure to bring cash. It takes a couple days to get money from the local shops, but this has nothing to do with hotel.
