Bass Lake Country Lodge

Amazing service with spectacular views! Had a lovely stay! Rooms were so clean and very comfortable! Great fishing and the food was exceptional! Their chef prepared amazing dishes for us! The host was so friendly and welcoming. 1000% recommended!

The place is very beautiful. The food is on another level, very scrumptious. The room's cleanliness is up to standard. The service from the staff is excellent,all of them: Grace,Jen, Alfred and Gerald. The girls at the spa know what they are doing, very professional.

There's no room service, you have to wait for meal times, no snacking in between.

Bass Lake exceeded our expectations in every way! The pictures don’t do justice to how beautiful this place is. What struck my partner and I most though, was how friendly the staff was. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. From carrying our luggage, to ironing our clothes. The warm welcoming atmosphere that was created by the other guests also made our experience special. It felt like one big happy family. I highly recommend this place honestly!

1. Food is not allowed in the property but the menu there is a bit pricey. Especially dinner options 2. There’s no signal in the property. However, this ended up being the best thing. We were able to disconnect from the world and spend quality time together

The place is quiet and isolated, very good for relaxation , the staff was so helpful and the room was clean and the food was amazing . Really enjoyed the walk and the view of the lake.

The amount of money paid for the room to only find the old tv and no Wi-fi and any streaming platforms. They need to put in a new TV screen and Wi-Fi , they will definitely get a 10/10

Hostile. Never have I felt so unwelcome at a property before. From the moment we arrived, we experienced unexpected hostility from the manager, Lichelle. Immediately after parking, without any greeting or introduction, Lichelle approached us aggressively, questioning if we brought our own groceries after noticing bags in our car. We confirmed we had groceries, mistakenly believing there were barbeque facilities available (no problem since I didn't read all the emails, and they did stipulate this). Instead of politely clarifying their policy, Lichelle initially wanted to confiscate our bottled water, snacks, and groceries, reluctantly agreeing to store our barbeque items in their fridge until our departure, making sure to emphasize that she was only doing us a "favour." The unpleasantness continued the following day when we were the only guests by the pool. We kindly requested that they lower the volume of the distracting 2000s remix music playing loudly, so we could peacefully enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Our request was met with resistance and argument from Lichelle and her husband Spencer, the chef, who questioned whether we found music relaxing. After much back-and-forth, they slightly lowered the volume but refused to turn it off completely, even briefly. The overall attitude displayed by Lichelle was unprofessional, unwelcoming, and clearly not in line with basic hospitality standards. Additionally, it was apparent to us that the Malawian staff members were fearful of Lichelle and appeared to be poorly treated. This experience significantly impacted our stay, leaving us feeling uncomfortable and dissatisfied. We would not recommend this establishment to others seeking a hospitable and relaxing environment.
