True Blue Bay Resort

Grounds were lovely. Pools were nice. Certain staff were friendly (housekeeping, grounds keeping, tour desk). Rooms were spacious w/balcony. The location was fine if you don't mind not being on the beach. The resort has a nice "islandy" vibe. Small & intimate.

I hate to have to write a negative review, but I want to be honest. The front desk staff were neither helpful nor friendly from day one. My husband & I arrived very late at night. The front desk staff acted as if we were "bothering them." Not welcoming or helpful. We hoped this was a one-off, but sadly, this theme lasted thru our 5-night stay. We go to breakfast our 1st morning & we are given an attitude by the woman preparing our eggs. No "good morning".. nothing (this happened following morning as well). We found the servers at the on-site restaurant the same... disinterested. Again, as if we are "bothering" them. We even had issues getting condiments! I asked the server for ketchup & she literally stood over me while I poured, then took it right back! It was like pulling teeth to get mayonnaise! The same w/ getting room & pool towels. We had to hound the front desk & wait way too long for any extra towels. It just wasn't right. The pool areas were nice but dead. There was no music (even at low volume) at pools or pool bar. Manager on duty said there should be music on but it didn't happen. So not much "atmosphere" at pool/bar. During our stay, we voiced our concerns to front desk staff & manager on duty. We didn't see a change. Finally, on our 2nd to last day, we got to speak w/General Manger, Kevin. He was very nice & seemed interested in our concerns. He said he would look into compensation (thru Booking or otherwise) for our troubles throughout the stay. He said he would get back to us before we left. We did not hear back & have not received any compensation for our lost time & aggrevation. It was disappointing, to say the least. There are many nice things about this resort, but unfortunately for us, it was overshadowed by all the negatives.

Loved the views of the bay at breakfast. I ate pancakes everyday. They were okay. Could stand to be more fluffy and lighter. I thoroughly enjoyed all the theme nights for dinner.

The ticket thing for Streetfest Wednesday. You should be able to pay a set price for the food and not deal with purchasing tickets. I personally do not carry cash on me.

Very lovely self-contained small resort. Waterside restaurant/bar was great.

No beach nearby--but several pools on the property.

Great hotel with an arty Caribbean vibe. Friendly staff. Good food in the restaurant but it could do with more variety for the lunchtime menu.

For us we prefer to be by the beach so this was a different sort of holiday for us. The hotel has some lovely pools. It's a shame there wasn't more times available for the beach shuttle bus - 9am! We are on holiday so we didn't want to rush about just to get the bus.
