Kandy Rivers Edge Nature Resort

The staff were very kind and helpful. Although we went in an offseason time and the staff was less but they were very hospitable and cooperative. The stay was very good. The location was also very nice.

Located out of town with river and nature views. We were well cared for!

Lovely view of the river. Friendly hosts. Good value for money. Breakfast was delicious.

Great location for bird lovers

The fridge was nasty with mold, the food was over priced don’t request for a burger on the menu we were so disappointed to be served chicken sausage instead of chicken burger. The staff managed to safe the situation with something else. But great learning stay with the Sri Lankan food menu and the staff should be transparent enough to say what they can serve and not.

Cet hôtel m'a donné le cafard, nous étions les seuls, petit déjeuner vraiment pas bon, la wifi ne fonctionne pas, je n'ai pas aimé du tout, pas assez propre

Our room was big and light and had a lovely river view. We booked it because it was a bit out of town and in nature (bird watching, even a big snake in the garden!)

But our room stank of drains, the sheets were grubby and blankets smelt of mothballs. TV barely worked, WiFi was nonexistent and there was only a trickle of hot water. The food was very poor. We waited almost 2 hours for a lunch when we arrived (they will say it’s because they cook everything from scratch, but …seriously!?) The curry was really bland and barely enough. Breakfast was poor, again barely enough. And they have the cheek to charge big for passable coffee from the machine, as only instant coffee is included! With all these problems, we asked to cancel the final two nights of our stay. Noted that the young man Jerome tried his best. But the owner/manager handled it terribly, accusing me of telling lies about the problems and making it up so we could leave early and get a refund. We didn’t get any refund but we couldn’t wait to get out of there so we left anyway.

Great location by the river with lovely gardens full of different fruit trees - saw lots of birds including kingfishers and sea eagles as well as turtles and lizards. The rooms were clean and spacious. The Sri Lankan family that own the hotel are very friendly and accommodating.

WiFi was OK but could have been better.
