Kandy Rivers Edge Nature Resort

Had 2 nights stay and hospitality from the entire team is extremely good. Would highly recommend this uncapped resort owned by 2 passionate friendly couples. Room quality, location facing the lake view with an amazing backyard with a large deck. Book shelves for the amazing collections, open kitchen with highest quality home style food are speechless. The owners are doing this business out of sheer passion and wanting to give the customers the best quality. Spot on location away from the crowded Kandy main area Serene location with loads of bird watching in the backyard with lot of home grown plants/trees with a nice view. On request, restaurant team prepared Indian Food especially Dosa with Dhal and Coconut Chutney, Idiyappam with Sodhi which were very delicious. Best part of this resort - personalized hospitality and services knowing for what customers want. Stayed with family and kids. Comfortable stay with 2 large size king beds with a huge patio doors and huge balcony facing the Lake View/trees and from one end you can also get a view iconic tallest buddha. Had Karoake with bluetooth speakers provided, some indoor play items for kids. Snooker Table for professionals. 10+ Open Kitchen Hygiene and a great family who runs this resort with great passion.

The location, by the river. It has good views of the river and Buddha statue. It's a small property, has a good river view deck. The owners of the property are nice to talk to. As we stayed there for a night, they suggested a good place for dinner and left the deck open in the night to enjoy the peaceful place. We had a good stay there.

Clean spacious room with balcony overlooking river and local flora/fauna. Friendly helpful staff whom we learnt a lot from regarding Sri Lankan culture. Very nice plentiful breakfast. Tea & coffee making facility. The occasional karaoke was pleasant.

A little out of the central Kandy but you are amongst the beautiful nature. The room was lovely with a well-appointed bathroom. The only improvement would be to have fridge, kettle and a bedside table. Otherwise excellent.

The hosts were very welcoming, friendly and courteous. They accommodated all our needs and requests. We arrived late in the evening at the property but they cooked us a lovely dinner. Beautiful location at river banks of Mahaweli. I would recommend this place to anyone. Good value for money.

Nice views overlooking the lake. Large, comfortable room.

The hotel is very far from the town centre and it’s difficult to arrange an Uber, Pickme or Tuk Tuk to pick you up from the hotel. I’m not sure why there was a reception desk as staff were rarely available. The hotel placed a large family of 6-8 people in a double room opposite ours. The small children were making so much noise we couldn’t sleep. I left the hotel the 2nd night and stayed elsewhere so I could get some sleep. My partner stayed and said the same thing the happened again the following night. Not sure how this hotel has such good reviews as our experience was far from pleasant.

Me and my family recently stayed at Kandy Rivers Edge Nature Resort, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The Owner were incredibly warm and welcoming, always eager to assist with anything we needed. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, offering great tips for exploring the local area. The food was also delicious, with a variety of local dishes that gave us a true taste of Sri Lankan cuisine. Whether you’re looking for relaxation or adventure, this resort has it all. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Kandy who wants to experience nature and tranquility while still enjoying excellent service. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay unforgettable!
