The Birchwood Retreat, Madikeri

Very nice getaway for family and friends. If you are looking for time to relax from daily routines and buzzies its the place to be. Its an ideal location.

The pool was fantastic, great atmosphere, tasty food, excellent service, friendly helpful staff.

There was nothing that I didnt like.

Beautifully maintained, lush greenery, clean and very spread out space in the middle of a coffee plantation. The staff is very courteous and helpful. There's a nice plantation walk every morning. Their restaurant food is great, albeit a little pricey.

The breakfast spread had very limited options. On certain days, they either had ala carte or didn't offer filter coffee. Also, for any service, one has to call the reception, as there's no intercom.

Some of the staff were extremely good, When we checked in they upgraded our room as I had a pet, though I took my orginal room appreciated the gesture, they also have an estate walk where Varun explains about all kinds of trees around l, which is informative. My pet truly had a great time there. When I was leaving my vehicle did not start and the estate manager, driver and 3 other people came to jumpstart my car, which was really kind, though my car started on its own I was very pleased with their efforts and help. The chef is really good, the mutton curry and dal was very tasty. Overall we had a great time.

Some of the staff are new I guess so they took time for room service, they don't serve tea coffee early am up to 8am so the room pantry should be refilled so people don't have to wait for tea bags or fresh cups.

Good location

Too many free dogs. They disturb our own pets at night as they roam free. I have informed the property 3 times about this matter and it continues to occur. This occurred on our previous trip as well.
