Lahami Bay Beach Resort

The best reef in terms of color, diversity and beauty in Marsa Alam and, perhaps, in all of Egypt. Entering the water from the sand. The reef is huge in length - about 5 km, due to large islands not far from the shore. Super well-kept area, wonderful large and very stylishly decorated rooms. Excellent friendly and correct staff. Excellent service and communication between staff and guests. Very attentive attitude to the condition and landscaping of the hotel area. The food is great. The animation is not intrusive. We are sincerely grateful to the hotel team for amazing days and excellent service We can safely recommend it to the most discerning guests.

I can’t say that this is a drawback, but rather a fact for which one must be mentally prepared. The HB meal plan (breakfast and dinner) does not include any drinks for dinner, and there is no free water in the cooler or water in the room. You must be prepared for the fact that for a comfortable stay you need to pay extra for water at a price of 3 euros per 1.5 liter bottle.

Snorkel reef was great and the diving was exceptional because the water is so clear and the underwater cliffs are beautiful

There was no village nearby

The main draw is the very large reefs. I saw turtles, eagle rays, a whitetip shark and many other fish, including some that I haven't seen anywhere else. Partly coral bleaching. Due to storms, the sea grasses have largely disappeared and with them the manatees.

It seems that the clinic is another profit center. The prices are higher than in Europe. They quoted me € 100 for a 5 minutes doctor's consultation (but you can bargain it down) and a cream would have cost € 25 that cost € 1 in Cairo. Thus, I declined to be treated.

Great hotel with a very good manager Ursula who takes such good care of all her guests! Clean hotel and beautiful and well maintained garden with beautiful flowers. If you are a diver, go visit the Barakuda DC on the premises. Very professional staff and lots of activities for all levels. Highly recommended to do a dive introduction (if you are not a diver yet) and the best house-reef you will find in Egypt!

The hotel was amazing, lovely staff, great food, beautiful house reefs. It was a paradise. Half board suited us perfectly, with small restaurant serving great lunches. There were excellent facilities, including an ATM, so no need to carry lots of money. Also, the diving school had all the kit available for rent at a fair cost, so snorkeling was very easy. A handful of vendors nearby, but no where to buy snacks - could do with a vending machine or two. WiFi was great, and allowed good internet access - even on the beach! The staff were attentive and kind speaking English, Italian and German. Snorkeling was amazing (although climate change is harming and bleaching the reef). Lots of charismatic fish, sharks, ray, eels and turtles. Hotel runs a fairly tight lifeguarding service, so felt very safe in water and it was a perfect experience for my partner who had never snorkeled before. They look after the reefs very well and have a shallow baby reef which is perfect for less competent swimmers, while the banana reef is stunning and perfect for experienced swimmers and divers. I would highly recommend this place, especially if you like swimming in the sea and meeting all the tropical fishes.

Communication was a little poor - did not respond to all emails about what facilities were available at the resort, and it was hard to find info regarding local tours etc from reception. Prices for food at the restaurants was very affordable but drink were very steep. Drinks cost more than in Europe, with a liter bottle of water or a CAN of coke being 3€.

Bad Wi-Fi, no choice for salads and fruit, even water and tea are for additional cost, deserts looks beautiful but taste horrible. Poor choice for vegans. Order taxi to Marsa Alam through the reception 120 euros while from outside it costs 90.

Really enjoyed multiple beaches, calmness, accessibility to marvellous reef. Breakfast was really good with freshly prepared omelettes, waffles and crepes on the spot upon request.

Waiters at the restaurant were not really nice and friendly (e.g. many times they took away food while we were still eating to bring it back after few seconds / pushed us to drink not just water but to buy soft drinks/beers).
