Excelsior Resort

In Timor Leste you need to recalibrate your thinking on “good” hotels. In this context, they’re good. The aircon (albeit noisy) works well, there’s a pool to cool off (not well landscaped but who cares). Staff also good. The free airport shuttle somewhat difficult to organise via staff but if you text super easy and welcome.

Breakfast (included) is hit and miss. Three mornings, one was good, two not so much. No food poisoning though.

The breakfast range was much better than the past. I did not use the pool but it looked well maintained and clean. The rooms are spacious.

The property was very old, lacked maintenance and was very oriental themed. The TV was completely in Chinese, no way to change it, dining room had Chinese decoration for some reason, etc (attention, it wasn’t a Chinese hotel) Breakfast was very basic
