Once Upon The River, Aluva - Near Cochin International Airport

A friend recommended the hotel because of its proximity to the airport. It was our last night in Kerala so decided to spend a bit extra on a ‘villa with a pool’, which was spacious and clean. We had a nice shower with plenty of hot water. The bed was very comfortable too. It’s not often you have a double bed in Kerala, usually it’s two single beds put together! The hotel was very quiet, I didn’t see any other guests!. We were the only ones in the restaurant for a while at dinner. The food we had was good but we didn’t choose anything exotic! There was only 2 choices for dessert. The complimentary taxi to the airport is a nice gesture, shame the breakfast wasn’t included as well.

I chose a villa with a private pool but it was too cold to enjoy and leaves kept falling in it because there was no netting up. The main pool, which although warmer, looked dirty, with tiles missing and two dirty loungers. The hotel really needs some maintenance, it feels tired and neglected and doesn’t live up to the online photos!

Das Hotel war in verschiedene Gebäude aufgeteilt. Der weitläufige gepflegte Garten beherbergt einen schönen Pool und hat eine tolle Aussicht über den Periyarriver. Es war sehr ruhig. Das Personal war in allen Bereichen sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir fühlten sehr umsorgt. Das Buffet war hervorragend. Ich habe bereits wieder gebucht. Es war das beste Hotel der ganzen Indienreise

The housekeeping and service staff were lovely and the hotel grounds were lush and beautiful, with a lot of potential

It was disappointing that such a nice-looking place provided less than bare minimum quality of service and hospitality. We felt entirely unwelcome due to every request being met with reluctance, lack of common decency or attempts to squeeze more and more money out of us.

Very nice stay right on the river and close to the airport. A bit pricey but the rooms are comfortable and the view is pretty from the restaurant.

La beauté du site, la piscine, confort du lit, restaurant très bon et prix juste, le service et la navette pour l'aéroport. .

Nous avons tout apprécié mais un mimi frigo serait un plus.
