Varkala Marine Palace

The place is very close to the beach. You get to the beach once you get out of the property, so you can go to the beach and come back any time, which is a great advantage. I would say that is a premium feature and worth it for people who want to have the convenience of being close to the beach. Also has a restaurant attached, albeit on the expensive side. Host was friendly, helpful and accommodative, he was responsive, was able to resolve WiFi connection issues once we reported it to him. We were able to check-in much before the check-in time and were also able to extend our check-out time as the room was available. Overall quite convenient.

The deluxe room that we had booked, does not really have a "sea-view" as advertised in the website, because the sea view gets blocked by the garden etc. So the room shouldn't really be advertised as "sea-view". The property is a bit old, so the room did not feel as premium as the price suggested and has bit of outdated feel to it. There were insects, worms etc. in the kitchen of the room, and sometimes crawling along in the room. These are things you expect around wet regions, but can be a bit uncomfortable to deal with. The AC was so loud, and the curtains don't completely close properly for some reason, so it didn't feel secure about privacy. These are small nit-picks but plays a part in how we feel once we are in the room. Overall due to some these issues, it felt a bit overpriced. The proximity to the beach was the saving grace.

Good location, close to beach. Beach view from restaurant is awesome. Clean room. Wooden room had a nice vintage look. Staff service were good, especially the guys at reception. Sweet water.

No TV. Hot water was vey less.

It has a lovely beachside restaurant with excellent food. Sea view rooms were quiet and comfortable

Our initial room was towards the rear of the hotel and very noisy at night as the walls are timber and we were sandwiched between 2 noisy neighbours. We upgraded to a room at the front which was very comfortable.

Location very near the beach. A good restaurant and bar. Rustic charm A friendly and helpful owner that extended to all his staff.

There were some refurbishment works going on at the time, but these will be finished by end of November for start of the high season

Fantastische locatie, wij hadden een prive terras. Goed restaurant met zicht op zee. Erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Prima bed en ruime kamer. Zeker een aanrader.

On the beach a traditional built place with beautiful gardens. Fantastic helpful staff and the boss is a great guy.
