Taj Bentota Resort & Spa

We liked everything about the Taj Bentota . All the staff were amazing and looked after us very well . The chef Kamal , Asiai, Rohan , kannaangar and Reema in the Spa . Last of all Malaccoasa who looked after our room .

We will go back next year .

The spacious sea view room was awsome

The breakfast had a fantastic selection every day and we appreciated the small differences each day that broke up the monotony. A HUGE thank you to our server Sam, who impressed us with his hospitality; he memorised our likes (and there were 9 of us). He had my pot of tea and honey ready to go, my husband’s coffee, my mum-in-law’s preferred coffee type, etc. Even when he wasn’t on our area, he organised the servers to have it ready. Thank you, Sam!! You bring respect and credit to the Hotel’s good name. The chefs always sent treats for my daughters and brought special dishes we had tried the day before. Damith & Ravindra were helpful. Sampath at the pool was so attentive and busy helping everyone. Saman, our room cleaner was phenomenal. So attentive to all our family’s needs. Our families- young and old LOVED his towel arrangements. The Dr in charge at the Spa was so lovely. She took such care looking out for my elderly mums’ needs. We all enjoyed our treatments.

Honestly, we all just loved our stay. After 240 days of daily treatment for Leukaemia, I needed that break, as did my whole family who carried the weight of that fight against cancer, with me. We loved it. We also booked a cooking class for all our family at ‘Anyone Can Cook’ cooking school, in Bentota- it was fantastic! You should recommend them to guests. Really helps tourists like us learn so much more about beautiful Sri Lanka. Wish there were beach lounges we could have taken out onto the beach. And umbrella’s. We were sorry not to have those. There were A LOT of stakes sticking out of the sand (wooden & metal) from fire works maybe?

Typical Taj Hotel service. Many amenities and activities. Fun for all ages, especially kids with the kids club, pool and beach. Food was great.

WIFI capped to 4 devices per room. Very tricky in modern days with multiple between a family of 4! Location is away from everything, but this both good and bad. Not walkable but can get to most places quickly by car.
