The Papalagi Resort

The accomodation was nice except THEY LITERALLY STOLE OUR MONEY from the bedroom while we were away.

THEY LITERALLY STOLE OUR MONEY. In our second day here, after breakfast (knowing exactly how much cash money each of us had in their wallet), I took my wallet while my boyfriend left his own in our bedroom. We handed the keys to the staff and left for a snorkeling tour. When we came back, 900k rupias (ie, around 50€) were lacking in my boyfriend's wallet. We could not believe that, so we repeatedly traced back every single expense we had in the past few days, but of course, the figures didn't add up. We explained what happened to the staff, making it clear that there was only one possible explanation, and asking where they placed the bedroom keys while we were away, and we clearly grasped that the keys were kept in a place which was accessible to anyone. If it wasn't for us demanding, they wouldn't even bother calling their boss. To no point, however, because all the boss could say was "nothing like this has ever happened before, and you don't even have a proof". Of course we left immediately, and notably in the new accomodation we were told that they are well aware of such robberies having already happened several times in the past at Papalagi Resort.

Location just perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very quiet which was great. Lovely pool.

Not a thing.

Overall we had a great stay at the Papalagi. The Resort is quite small and we were the only guests. At first it was a little bit suspicious, however the humble stuff turned it into a very „local like“ adventure. They were so kind tried to give us always a happy and welcoming feeling. Especially Ilham was really kind and tried to help us with every topic we had. Also the cook (unfortunately don’t know her name) was very kind and her food was exceptionally good. The garden and the pool were very beautiful and if you want to relax it’s definitely the right spot for you. We highly recommend to walk into the local villages. It’s really interesting and you can get an authentic view on how the locals are living

As we wanted to snorkel we were a little bit disappointed about the reef in front of the resort. It was not possible to snorkel there directly. In addition there was only a small offer of food and drinks.

Excellent cuisine prepared by the owners. Very clean property, beautiful garden and site with beach and quick access to nice snorkelling spots. Very quiet. Amazing sunsets with Agung volcano in the distance.

Be prepared for some mosquitoes.

Fantastic location if your after beautiful sunsets, quiet & remote setting. Accomodation had a nice pool

The bungalows were great the other style of accomodation had no reverse cycle cooling & were not as comfortable as bungalows

The view and sunsets were beautiful. The bungalow was nice. You just have to empty pail of water from air conditioner each day.

The atmosphere was very businesslike and did not feel friendly or welcoming. We enjoyed the property but found Khabita Bar next door who treated us as family and just had an amazing atmosphere so we spent most of our time there.
