"Passable"

5.0

The location was beautiful, quiet and remote. The pool was nice. Hera, the co-owner, helped with a home remedy when I got spiked by a sea urchin.

The cheap room was too expensive for what it was. It was hot and uncomfortable. The more expensive rooms are apparently beautiful. Fork out the extra money here. The cheap room faces the wrong way to catch a sea breeze. There was a lizard in the roof which ran about at night dislodging dirt which fell on the bed. The room wasn't cleaned each day. The food was very expensive and had very small portions, and wasn't very interesting. You can't really snorkel from the beach when the tide's out because of the sea urchins which is a bit of a pity.

"Overpriced"

The place is ok and good spot for sunset.

Totally overpriced. I paid a snorkelling trip (old mask no fins) almost as much as a diving excursion. Felt unwelcomed for the first time in indonesia.

"A beautiful, well cared for place."

We found Hera to be a most gracious hostess who, together with her staff (and Bruno the dog) made our stay wonderful...including surprising me with a birthday dinner and cake! The gardens and the pool are peaceful and the snorkeling was excellent.

Nothing. All was good.

"Exceptional"

If you are looking for something special in the south Gili, a quiet, peaceful hotel, this is the place. We spent nine days, here. There are three bungalows and a few rooms in a low building, we stayed in a bungalow. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. There was ac and hot water. The pool was large, deep and well maintained too. The atmosfere was very relaxing: you feel you are in a family; the owner, madame Hera, is very friendly and can help you for any question. The cooking of the hotel is very good and food is prepared on order.

The presence of some hunk or similar to put on dresses could be usefull

"Perfect"

Everything was perfect. The owner Hera is very nice and took good care of us during the whole stay. Her resort is really like an oasis on the island. She also arranges transportation and trips (fishing, snorkeling). And lovely dog Bruno is like cherry on top :-))

"You couldn’t get more relaxed and recharged than here."

The best thing was having a drink while watching the sunset over Bali. And also best is the perfect peace and quiet. Hera is a wonderful, caring host who will organise everything for you. We loved it here.

Very little! The food was good but a bit limited due to the remoteness.

"Disappointing"

5.0

Location, loved seeing the hens and roosters running around and flying up a tree at dinner time. Enjoyed snorkelling out from Papalagi until we snorkelled at the truly amazing snorkelling spots on nearby smaller islands.

Food. Prices unreasonably high being more expensive and less delicious compared with other Gili Gede resorts (we tried most of them). Even more expensive than on Gili Asahan (so the excuse about prices being high due to remoteness didn’t cut it). We were the only customers at the resort so way to much focus on us. We had to let owner know hours in advance what we would order for dinner which reduced our freedom of where we ate. When we were having dinner, the owner regularly joined us even when we tried to have a few romantic dinners at a small table by the sea. The pool was filthy and unusable when we arrived. We smelled and watched over the days loads of chlorine being put in pool right up to the day before we left- we did not even bother to try it. While we paid $110 (Aussie) per night for 7 nights incl breakfast, we noticed the price reduced nearly 40% while we were there. The entire time we stayed we did not have anyone clean the room or change the sheets. The bathroom smelled due to no S-bend in the sink plumbing. We also were unnecessarily exposed to island politics regarding which boatman to use. We walked all over the island which we loved and returned to a different resort for another week after a few days in Tetebatu.
