Ginger Palm Villa

Where to start – we were blown away immediately by how beautiful the property is – the pictures represent it well but don’t do it justice. The staff were amazing. We didn’t realise that when you take the whole villa, you get the whole stuff looking after you – we thought we were just renting a space. The manager and staff were all so kind and helpful-they couldn’t do enough for us arranging activities and providing lovely food as required. Five star in every single way! We loved it- especially Ginger the resident puppy.

Amazing. The place was absolute luxury. Impeccable standard. But the guys that worked there were even more incredible. Sandeep and the team looked after us so well. Their hospitality knew no bounds. Even staying after their shits at night to make sure we got back safely from our adventures. They really cared. They took us to the only ethical turtle sanctuary on the south coast They organised any trips that we wanted to do, checking availability, weather forecast and if it was a worthy day to do the particular activity (for example if elephants had been spotted at the safari then it was a good day to go) Sandeep even taught me surfing in his time off. Even though Sri Lanka is an exceptionally friendly place this level of service and friendship was above and beyond any expectation. Sincere thanks to everyone at the Ginger Palm 🙏

It is good to know that the triple room is on the road side. If your are sensetiv to noise it will wake you at night from Tok Tok, motorbikes, dogs.

My husband and I have traveled a lot over the years, and this was hands down the best hotel experience we’ve ever had. We loved absolutely everything about this place and can’t wait to come back. The staff were all so friendly, kind, and helpful, it really made our stay feel extra special. The food was incredible; everything we ate was amazing, and it was by far the best food we had in Sri Lanka. The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk to Hiriketiya Beach, but the villa itself feels very private and peaceful. With only a few rooms, it’s like having your own little slice of paradise. The facilities were great, everything was exceptionally clean and well-designed. We couldn’t recommend it more!

Ginger Palm Villa was our favourite stay in Sri Lanka after visiting a few different areas. Although it’s not on the beachfront it’s a 5 minute stroll to get onto Hiriketiya beach and a short TukTuk to neighbouring Dikwella. We thought the villa was in a great location as lots to do on the doorstep but still very quiet and private. One of the staff from the hotel met us at turtle beach on his day off where he helps hatch turtles. He had arranged snorkels for us so we got to see many fish and even swam with wild turtles which was just amazing! We couldn’t fault anything about our stay, it was simply amazing. The villa had everything you need from a games room, pool floats, beach towels, mosquito repellent and much needed after sun! The food was the best we had anywhere in Sri Lanka and staff are some of the nicest people we have ever met, they really couldn’t do enough to help us enjoy our stay. The manager Sandeep arranged a taxi to our next hotel for us with Samitha and he was by far the best and safest driver we had in Sri Lanka, he took us on the coast road and took us to some beautiful places on the way. We would highly recommended to anyone and we really hope to come back one day!

That we didn’t stay longer!

I mean it when I say that this may be my favourite hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Mainly because it doesn’t really feel like a hotel - more like a gorgeous personal space with incredible staff on hand to help with whatever you need. My girlfriend and I didn’t want to leave. The food was a particular highlight - essentially anything you pick off the menu, you’ll love. The beach is less than a 10 minute walk away if that. I wish I could go back, it really is special.

GPV was amazing. Super clean, amazing breakfast, lovely pool and great location 5 min walk to Hiri beach. Not to mention the staff who were incredible too.. so much so we wanted to extend our stay. Thank you guys, GPV and Hiri were the highlight of our Sri Lanka trip

The whole set up here is insane and genuinely the nicest staff we had looking after us out of the 7 places we stayed in Sri Lanka. Couldn’t recommend staying here high enough

We absolutely loved our stay here. Everything was perfect. The hotel is small and therefore quite calm, even though it is in the middle of Hiriketiya. The room, the bed and the other facilities were great. The staff was amazing and always there to help. The food was great too. Breakfast every morning was a treat (and lots of choices) and the lunch and dinner options are really good too. We really felt like home and, even after booking a few additional nights, we were super sad to leave. Without a doubt our favourite stay in Sri Lanka and maybe even my favourite stay anywhere ever. We recommend this place to everyone!!
