Ginger Palm Villa

The food was incredible - some of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka. Likewise, the staff were attentive and really looked after the property.

Location couldn’t be better as can walk to the beach and lovely bars and restaurants. But really quiet and chilled too. Rooms spotless and the staff are just fantastic. The food at the villa not to be missed …we had an evening meal and it couldn’t have been better. Really recommend as privacy and quiet of a villa but completely looked after like a hotel with food and service. Want beach which is 5 mins walk away is incredible.

The property is situated off the main road about 5mins walk to the stunning hiriketiya beach. Rented as a whole villa to groups and families in the on season they do let out rooms individually on the off season. We fell in love immediately with the layout of the villa; you’re welcomed with a generous outdoor seating area perfect for afternoon tea/ coffee/ beer (depending on your plans for the evening) which then ushers you into the biggest pool we’ve seen so far on our trip! The rooms themselves are light, well sized, exceptionally clean and built with quality furnishings; guaranteed a comfy nights sleep here. And this is all without mentioning the thing that really makes ginger palm villa the best place to stay in Sri Lanka: the staff. Suranaga will take you to Dickwella beach and ensure you meet some turtles in the wild, Nilantha is always around to make your stay as comfortable and easy going as possible with excellent service and his charming smile, Sandeep who heads up the place is a wealth of local knowledge and all round amazing guy, not to mention the chef who cooks food so good we ended up ignoring the majority of nearby restaurants! These are just a few of the people who have made it very difficult to leave this place but no doubt we will be back very soon with the friends and family we’ll be raving to about this gem we found in Hiriketiya.

This is a beautiful place in Hiriketiya- the property is homely, clean, comfortable and very tastefully designed. The rooms are spacious and comfortable as are all of the common areas. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff deserve a special mention- they were so welcoming, friendly and hospitable during our stay. Best place to stay in Hiriketiya!
