Sunset Beach Resort by RF at SanVicentePalawan OPC

Everything was amazing. Our hosts, Roberto and April, were absolutely fantastic. Very engaging and helpful with a great sense of humour. The staff were wonderful, kudos to the chef for all the consistently delicious meals. The rooms were very well designed, spacious, clean, and comfortable. Good hot water and AC. Didn’t realize the resort had direct access to its own beach so that was a bonus. Was able to enjoy a cocktail while watching the sunset every evening. And no bites from sand flies during our 4 day stay. Incredible! We took the island hopping tour the first day and had such a fabulous time. Saw lots of colourful fish, turtles, starfish, and beautiful coral. Tremendously better that the one we did at 100 Islands. Had a very relaxing, quiet and wonderful time here. Definitely a highlight of our trip. Highly recommended.

It was sad having to leave. The staff made you feel like you’re at home. Everything was fabulous.

Great welcome from Roberto and April. Very professionally run resort in a great location.

The property is a hidden gem just outside of the quant town of San Vicente, both the property itself and the area are unspoiled pieces of Palawan. The property is meticulously maintained even down to racking the beach everyday to keep potential sand flies at bay. It’s conveniently located about 5 min tuktuk ride from town where you can find most everything you need. Since there are only 5 rooms everyone has plenty of space and there is no fighting for sunchairs (as is common in many places now) in fact many days you maybe the only guest at the beach as others are off doing tours/sightseeing. What makes the property so special though is Roberto, April and the rest of the team, you truly feel like family when you are here and they do everything in their power to ensure you have a great trip from arranging local tours (even going so far to suggest to make a small group of 4 from the hotel so we could have a private boat, but still only pay the shared boat tariff) to making great sundowner cocktails to sip as you watch the sunset. All of the meals I had were incredible and felt like proper home cooking as all of it is prepared with great care and love. If you are looking for a quiet piece of paradise outside of the hustle and bustle of the typical Palawan destinations look no further, it’s has definitely been the highlight of my trip and probably one of the most special places I’ve had the opportunity to stay in all of my travels.

When travelling so far away from your home, there are only a few places you visit that you wish to go back to. This is one of them. Roberto and April built something very special and you can feel its energy the moment you cross the gate. I do not normally wrire reviews, but this place truly deserves it. The space is quiet and right on the beach, the perfect escape if you visited busy places like Coron/El Nido before. The rooms (5 in total, so max 10 guests) are simple and nice, with enough space to put backpacks luggages etc. every room has its own private patio overlooking the pool and the beautiful garden. The common area includes a very nice bar and dining table, then hammocks, sunbeds, swings right on the beach. Everything is made with passion and care. Unfortunately we spent here only two nights (find time to stay at least three!!). Another important thing: these were hands down the best meals we had during our trip in the Philippines, and you can trust an Italian foodie! Roberto also helped organizing tours and transfers which was very helpful. Thank you for taking such a good care of us!

Everything was just perfect

Where do I start? Roberto and April made us feel as though we were being reunited with old friends! We had such a treacherous journey to get to Sunset Beach Resort and after leaving our very expensive camera in a random van in Port Barton and travelling through the jungle only to realise what we had left behind, we truly felt it was lost forever. The lengths that Roberto went to have our camera returned to us was simply unimaginable and astounding. Within 24 hours, our camera magically appeared at the hotel and I am forever grateful. Thank you Roberto and April for an unforgettable stay, the staff and food was amazing, the location absolutely breathtaking and our stay made me seriously feel like there is just so much more to life. Roberto and April, I will see you both again soon! Thank you again my friends!

From the minute I arrived it was heaven...if you want to feel welcome this is the place to come...Roberto is a very clever man and has thought of everything....if he hasn't...he'll still do it...lol April and the rest of the staff are amazing ..
