Summit Tashi Ghang Heritage Resort

I took a cottage for 3 nights. The bathroom was having damaged commode, leaking water taps. Water clogging in the bathroom resulting flooding of bathroom as well as the bedroom. The problem was reported all the time to the management but no action was taken except some periodic cleaning. I asked for a room change, that was denied. Ultimately I cut short my stay . Lastly booking.com agreed to make my stay for 2 days.

It was an old property with insects, fly all around.

–the staff goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels special. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared.

Location and the view to the mountains

Firstly, the location of the property is quite far from the main Pelling area where other hotels are situated. The roads leading to the property are in a state of disrepair. Unfortunately, this means that going for a stroll or to get anything outside the property is not possible. During our stay in the cottage suite, we encountered difficulties with receiving hot water. This was due to the location of the suite, which was separate from the main building and resulted in a disruption of water flow on the first day. However, on the second day, we were able to enjoy hot water as we woke up early. Despite the initial setback, we found the room to be spacious and clean.On a positive note, the staff at the property were polite and friendly, and the food was tasty.

However, a major issue is the presence of insects that find their way into the rooms. This is something that the summit company should address. Additionally, it would have been beneficial if the rooms were equipped with air conditioning and fans, especially considering the rising temperatures. As guests, we visit these 3-4-5 star properties to relax, and if we are unable to sleep at night, it defeats the purpose of staying there.
