Nature's Eye Resort

I really loved this place, if you need a peaceful place to stay and away to the busiest city and stressful work this is the place for you…

If you want to visit the end of the world, this is the right place, very secluded. The unpaved walk from the parking spot to the resort is kind of wild, which I did not mind, and they also offer assistance. They have their own beach and a snorkeling spot, however there are not many corals left. I enjoyed swimming in the open sea around the snorkeling spot, the sea on the beach is rather shallow. The resort is quite big with only a few bungalows. My room had a fantastic view over the ocean and was very comfy. I loved the big veranda and the hammock. There are no shops or restaurants around, so if you don't have a motorbike or car you are hooked on the resort's restaurant, which is fine, I quite liked to food there (fresh seafood, vegetarian options, great breakfast choices etc). It's not a luxury resort, but it's solid and clean. Overall I really enjoyed my stay there, it is quiet and sits on top of a hill, and the surrounding is quite beautiful.

Bei der Ankunft waren wir über den Anblick des Resorts zunächst erschrocken. Aber nach dem Taifun am Tag vorher ist das auch kein Wunder. Das Team hat dann aber recht schnell für Ordnung gesorgt. Unsere gebuchte Unterkunft konnten wir nicht beziehen, das sie durch den Taifun beschädigt wurde. Aber uns wurde ein gutes, anderes Quartier für unseren Aufenthalt zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Aussicht über das Meer war fantastisch. Das Areal, auf dem das Resort liegt wurde soweit wie möglich in seiner natürlichen Umgebung belassen und nicht verändert, was ich gut finde. Allerdings sollte man ein gutes Insektenabwehrmittel mitnehmen. Mücken und Sandflöhe gibt es dort einige, erst recht in der Regenzeit. Das Essen war gut und hat uns geschmeckt. Das Personal des Resorts war sehr freundlich.

Da der Taifun die Strom- und Internetleitungen beschädigt hatte, musste im Resort der Generator einspringen. Dieser konnte aber nicht dauerhaft in Betrieb sein, so dass wir plötzlich abends Stromabschaltungen hatten. Aber, ... letztendlich war das auch nicht wirklich schlimm für uns. Ein kleiner Vorschlag: Wenn wieder einmal die Stromleitung beschädigt ist und der Generator laufen muss, wäre es sicher schön für die Gäste, wenn man sie darüber informiert, zu welcher Zeit der Generator ein- bzw. ausgeschaltet wird. Dann kann man sich darauf besser einstellen. Wie aber bereits gesagt, es war kein Problem für uns. Der kleine Strand unterhalb der Cottages könnte ein wenig mehr von den Steinen befreit werden.

We truly appreciated the peaceful atmosphere of the resort, which allowed us to reconnect with nature in a meaningful way. The owner and management were incredibly kind and understanding, arranging for us to move to a more family-friendly room since the cliff cottage had steep stairs that made access difficult for families with a toddler. We also enjoyed the delicious food, especially their brewed coffee, which was a delightful treat. The staff were warm, polite, and friendly, making us feel welcomed and cared for. Although the beach is rocky, it’s not a problem—simply waiting for low tide reveals a beautiful side of the beach that we thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, we would warmly recommend this place to others looking for a serene and welcoming escape.

The muddy trek to the resort was quite difficult for a family with kids, and the stairs to the beachfront need to be fixed.

Probably the most picturesque property on the island. It’s up on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. There is some hiking required so might not be great for elderly or really young children. What made this place special was the staff. Super attentive, proactive and so helpful.

Let’s just say I got plenty of exercise. 😉
