TRS Turquesa Hotel - Adults Only - All Inclusive

I appreciate the room a lot and the room service team - so helpful and nice people. My room cleaned regularly and precisely :) The staff and the whole service was so kind, always present and ready to support. Thank you to the man from the hotel reception for helping me with his Spanish when I was trying to communicate with the taxi driver :)The choice of food was wide enough I did not manage to try it all. The wifi was really good too, I used it a lot.

Everything was excellent but one little thing - I would appreciate the sunbeds on the beach were cleaned after rain and the puddles of dirty water were removed so as there was more choice where to sit.

Property was pretty clean, beautiful landscape. Beach is amazing.

Didn't enjoy the travel harassments, took 4 hours away from my birthday.

An overall terrible place to stay but.... A few stand out employees include Oscar the butler. He went above and beyond researching stuff not normally required by resort visitors. He deserves a promotion. Also the waitresses Mayerlin and Mayelin were genuinely friendly and remembered me by name, even when nearly everyone else acted like I didn't exist. The housekeeping team were all genuinely lovely and greeted me every time I saw them. If any of them are interested in promotions I highly recommend that they replace most of the existing service staff.

This resort is abysmal. Stay somewhere else. If it's not school holidays, then kid friendly resorts elsewhere will probably be fine. I've stayed in many 5 star properties over the years and this is by far the worst. Yes, it has enough facilities to qualify it as 5 stars but the service is so sub-par I can confidently say I've received better service at most roadside motels. For the record, this was a "treat" to myself as I'd reached visiting 100 countries. I've stayed in everything from backpacker dorms to having a butler wait hand and foot on me at the St Regis. When I see a place advertizing itself as 5 stars, I expect 5 stars, especially when it comes to service. I know what 5 stars is! I mentioned excitedly when I checked in that the Dominican Republic was my 100th country that I'd been to. As I travelled solo and with a backpack, they clearly didn't believe me. Don't judge a book by its cover. They then thought I'd be OK with being downgraded to a ground floor garden view room that smelled of damp. I'd purposely paid more for a poolside room, with a balcony and a glimpse of the ocean, like in the photos. I was lied to by 2 employees that my room was poolside (it clearly wasn't) but by the time I spoke to the manager I finally got the room I booked, albeit with two beds. So be it, I got the view I wanted and had paid for! Restaurant wise, if you're quite happy to over indulge at buffets like most guests obviously do, then you might like the food on offer. If you want a bit of classy a la carte dining, look elsewhere. Food is either vastly under or over cooked, has ingredients missing, or they simply use the same sauce for the different dishes even for their boutique menus. Such small menus should imply all dishes will be perfect and unique! As for some some of the service people, I can't even begin to tell you how lazy they are.
