The property was lovely. Decor was lovely.

The windows in room didn’t close fully. The cleaner didn’t change the towels when left in the bath. There were cobwebs in the corners. My room didn’t have a slip of paper stating the internet password. Our rooms were above the bar which late at night was very loud so maybe you could remind visitors to be a bit more quiet after a certain time.

Some of the decor is really nice and its in a great location. Breakfast was good. The room was OK. The power of the shower was amazing. The bed was comfortable.

Overall, the hotel is starting to feel dated, and it shouldn't be. Throughout the corridors and my room, it smelled stale, not horrendously, but its off putting. It would only take some high quality air fresheners to fix that. For a single room, the bathroom was adequate in size, but it was quite difficult to get in and out of the bath/shower, due to a large glass screen on the side of the bath. I nearly slipped getting in and out. There was no communication between me making the booking and arriving, I had to call the day before to double check they had my booking. At no point did anyone try to upgrade me, even though the hotel was empty, and I would've paid a little extra for a double bed/room. It feels like the current owners are very inexperienced.

"Lovely hotel and lovely staff"

The staff were all very welcoming, the location is great and walkable to everything in the village. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant, 5 of us all very happy with our choices. We had drinks in the bar and later sat by the log fire. The mattresses are comfortable- 3 bedrooms and we all said we slept well. Warm and cosy.

Only comment would be our bathroom needed a bit of an upgrade in 134 but we enjoyed our stay and would certainly be back.
