The Golf Hotel Woodhall Spa

The Golf Hotel Woodhall Spa. We stayed for two nights while exploring the local area. Firstly the good points. Entrance area and restaurant and Bar nicely laid out. Breakfast is available from 7am to 9am mon to Friday. Breakfast was good and help yourself. Hot and cold breakfast available. My Partner wanted Gluten free toast and they had that available along with soya milk. Breakfast was Limited if your Gluten intolerant or vegetarian. But hot food was Sausage gf,bacon, hash browns, mushrooms, baked beans, and eggs. All the normal cold things so no complaints. Wifi code could be printed on the hotel info in your room. I had to ask reception. Code is lower case golfhotel. Bedroom was OK. The usual tea coffee etc etc supplied. Please remember to bring sachets of oat or soya milk if you don't like normal uht milk. Plenty of hot water available. Extra heater supplied in room but not needed. Big flat screen TV. Bed not great for comfort think the mattress has seen plenty of action not a great nights sleep. In general the hotel seems dated and could do with some more refurbishment. The windows on the outside seemed very flaky and going rotten. Cost was £130 a night for a couple including breakfast. Big car park. Staff are very helpful and nice. Overall a nice stay.

While this hotel is in a great location, the hotel itself is no good at all. There is a difference between old and cared for properties and old and run down properties, the Golf is old and run down, with miserable staff at the reception desk to go with it. My room was dusty and worn down and dirty. It had holes and cracks all throughout the ceiling. I have stayed in some beautiful historic hotels before and they were older with creaking floors but they were still lovely places that I would happily return to. However, what I would like to point out to the Golf Hotel is that people who love historic properties don’t actually love neglect. They love character. Character and cleanliness can absolutely coexist. Character and cobwebs? Not so much. But the worst part was that the windows in the room did not close or lock all the way. As a solo female traveler it made me feel incredibly unsafe and when I brought it up to the reception staff, they refused to put me in another room. Absolute miserable experience here and after one night, I could not leave fast enough.

Good location with a nice, big room. Nicely furnished, comfortable bed. Bottled water was provided along with the tea, coffee and biscuits. We didn’t eat at the hotel.

Breakfast was just okay.

Das personal war zuvorkommend und freundlich

Es handelt sich hierbei um ein haus mit enormen renovationsstau. Die fenster sind teilweise nicht zu öffnen. In der bar ist der bodenbelag teilweise aufgerissen. Im gsnzen haus riecht es mufflig und ungeziefer ist auch anzutreffen.
