MB Palambak Island Resort Pulau Banyak Aceh Singkil

A piece of gem. I am so grateful that I found it. It is the low season so we have the whole island for me and my boyfriend. Staff are super nice. The beach is so clear with several snorkeling spots. The only thing is there are mosquitoes so I had to quickly go to my room every evening to avoid mosquitoes bites.

Sehr gepflegter Sandstrand (wird jeden Morgen gereinigt) und sehr fotogen. Die Insel zu Umrunden oder zu Durchqueren war nicht möglich. Es würde allenfalls gehen, wenn man bereit ist, einen Teil zu schwimmen. Gemütliche Veranda mit Stühlen und einer Hängematte zum Verweilen. Claudine war sehr hilfsbereit und per WhatsApp gut erreichbar. Das Personal vor Ort war sehr freundlich.

Claudine war nicht vor Ort, was man gemerkt hat. Das Personal machte nur das Nötigste. Wir haben jeweils gefragt, ob wir zu einer gewissen Zeit Essen können. Trotzdem mussten wir immer mind. 45 Minuten länger warten. Vom Essen waren wir auch nicht überzeugt. Zudem bekam ich Magenprobleme, was wohl auf das gratis Trinkwasser zurückzuführen war. Ich musste dann auf Wasserflaschen wechseln. An drei von vier Abenden hatten wir jeweils eine grosse Spinne im Zimmer. Das Personal hat diese glücklicherweise entfernt. Das Zimmer wirkte etwas verstaubt und in unseren Augen macht das Moskitonetz auf die Art und Weise keinen Sinn. Es wäre besser, wenn man über dem Bett ein Netz hätte, denn es kamen trotzdem Tiere rein. Moskitos sind leider ein Problem dort, auch wenn das Personal mit Moskitoschnecken versucht, diese fernzuhalten. Beim Gemeinschaftsbad sind Männer und Frauen getrennt. Trotzdem gingen die Männer (Personal) immer auch aufs Frauen WC. Kann ich nicht verstehen, warum man es dann trennt. Aufgrund der super Bewertungen waren unsere Erwartungen zu hoch und wurden leider etwas enttäuscht.

An amazing place worth traveling thousands of miles for. A secluded island where you can feel like Robinson Crusoe. Beautiful turquoise sea, sandy beach, and coral reefs with colorful fish. The hotel food is delicious and varied, and even though the staff doesn’t speak English, they are always helpful, kind, and friendly, making you feel like you’re visiting friends. I highly recommend staying at MB Palambak Island Resort and enjoying the island!

Just as a suggestion, you could leave an umbrella in the bungalow so guests can comfortably go to the shower or toilet in the rain.

Bungalov na "pustém" ostrově (na ostrově v té době fungoval jen tento resort) byl skvělý, pohodlný, personál nám zajistil ochranu před komáry (každý večer nám bungalov vykouřili prostředkem proti komárům). Sdílené toalety průběžně uklízeny. Pobyt na ostrově byl báječný, oceán tyrkysově modrý, bílý písek na pláži, pláž čistá, možnost zapůjčení kajaků, věcí na šnorchlování. Elektřina (generátor) a s ním wi-fi fungovala od 18 do 22 hodin. Perfektní relax. Personál byl vstřícný a pomáhající, odpověděl vždy na naše dotazy, kuchař skvěle vařil. Neumí moc anglicky (ani my), ale vždy jsme se krásně domluvili pomocí gest nebo překladače. Super. Také majitelka Claudine je naprosto skvělá, podává průběžné informace, odpovídá rychle na jakékoli otázky. Zajistila nám dopravu na ostrov i z ostrova, průběžně nás informovala, když kvůli špatnému počasí byla zpožděna loď, zorganizovala také dopravu ze Singkil do Medanu, odkud nám další den letělo letadlo. Báječná, skvělá, perfektní žena!!! Velmi doporučujeme pro všechny, kteří chtějí zažít dobrodružství pustém ostrově, odpojit se od světa a skvěle relaxovat!!!

Paradise beach with clear calm warm water. Incredibly helpful manager Claudine helped with all travel.

It's basic accomodation, as can be expected on a remote island. Food takes a long time to arrive, but you get used to it. Mosquitos, so need to hide in a net at sundown.

Clean and well equipped rooms, great restaurant, friendly staff, good service. Well organized transfer and information on activities.

We had the best time at Palambak and extended our stay the longest possible to at least 2 weeks as we won’t find an paradise like this again. The bungalows are beautiful located with sea view, clean and well equipped with everything you need to relax on your big terace (chairs and hammock) and have a huge mosquito net, mosquito coil and a electronic mosquito raket. Make sure to bring your repellent and long clothes to stay at beach when it’s getting dark and you are fine :) The shared bathrooms come with a Western Toilet and a Basket shower- they are cleaned very well everyday. The staff will care for you the whole day with everything you need and will cook delicious food 3 times a day! It was amazing to stay with them! We had fresh fish, we cooked with them and there was a bonfire at the beach one day. The Beach is beautiful (staff clean it everyday right in the morning because there is of course some trash coming from the main island from time to time) and you can walk around the island in about 2,5-3 hours. And last but not least there is the Manager Claudine who is organising everything perfectly and fast via WhatsApp with you to make sure you really have the best stay! Make sure to not miss this beautiful paradise :) we hope to come back on day!

Cute huts at a lovely and clean beach! We extended our stay for 2 more days and almost everyone we stayed on the island did 😂 it is a real calm and relaxing holiday with homecooked food and an island almost to yourself! Just prepare yourself to wait for the food because there is only one (good) cook ;) The organization is very good and easy with the owner Claudine. Three cute chickens and a cat was there as well, very cute athmosphere!

Only be aware that the island is a long journey with ferry, wood boat or speedboat and that the small boat or speedboat to the island itself is quite expensive, 250k per person and even we shared the speedboat back we almost payed one million. But in my opinion it is worth it!!

Unser Aufenthalt im MB Palambak Island Resort war einfach traumhaft! Claudine und das gesamte Team haben unseren Urlaub unvergesslich gemacht. Von der ersten Minute an fühlten wir uns willkommen und bestens aufgehoben. Die Mitarbeiter waren unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und immer bereit zu helfen – wir haben uns wirklich wie VIPs gefühlt. Claudine hat alles perfekt organisiert und war stets ansprechbar, egal ob es um Ausflüge oder kleine Wünsche ging. Besonders die Schnorcheltour war ein Highlight – wir haben Schildkröten gesehen und die faszinierende Unterwasserwelt erkundet. Die Organisation war reibungslos, und das Team hat alles dafür getan, dass wir diese Erfahrung in vollen Zügen genießen konnten. Das Essen war abwechslungsreich und fantastisch – jeden Tag wurden wir mit neuen Köstlichkeiten überrascht. An Silvester haben die Mitarbeiter für uns gegrillt und ein Lagerfeuer am Strand gemacht – ein unvergesslicher Abend voller Herzlichkeit. Die Ruhe der Insel, die traumhafte Natur und der herausragende Service des gesamten Teams machen das MB Palambak Island Resort zu einem echten Paradies. Wir sind dankbar für die wunderbare Zeit und freuen uns schon jetzt auf unseren nächsten Besuch!

Palambak Island is very beautiful with turquoise water and a white sand beach that goes around the entire island - which takes around 4 hours to circle. There are some areas (especially 20 mins walk south) that have very good snorkelling, however not everywhere on the island is great for snorkelling due to the reef being very shallow and some areas of poor visibility. I've heard that other islands have better snorkeling. The resort was the only open lodging on the island so I had the island mostly to myself and the 2 other guests (although another guesthouse 300m south may open soon and local fisherman sometimes come on shore). The guys running the resort are very friendly but do not speak hardly any English - so we used Google translate a lot. They also cook very tasty meals which mainly are either grilled fish or chicken with tofu, tempe, vegetables, rice and fruit. I would definitely recommend going to palamabak island resort for 3 / 4 days then maybe staying on another island to the north west like pulau tailana or sikandang for some island hopping.

Lots of mosquitoes - bring some strong repellent. The quality of the food was excellent but there wasn't much variety. Palambak island is located quite far from the majority of the Banyak islands so island hopping or kayaking to another island isn't really an option. They offer a snorkelling trip for 1.2 million IDR per boat but they mostly visit areas we had already seen on the transfer from Balai to Palambak.
