Bungalow in the middle of the desert, very simple but in line with the expectations considering the location. Beautiful view on the desert. Meals for few euros

Maybe it is pretty far from Villavieja and the observatory but if you are looking for peace and silence this is the right place. Mind the mosquitos, very aggressive!

"A great and unique experience in the middle of nowhere"

It was really cool to be out in the middle of nowhere in the desert. The hotel is very rustic and located on a functioning ranch with cows and horses and everything. It is also walking distance from the two grey desert hiking trails. The owner was really friendly and fun to chat with as well as helpful with anything we needed. The food was also some of the best hotel food we’ve had.

It was very hot. The fan was solar powered, which is great, but ran out of power at night, and if there was no breeze it felt like we were in an oven and barely slept. However, despite this, I still give this place a 10 and we had a wonderful time, which goes to show how good everything else was.

"Basic but familial stay in the middle of the desert"

You’re in the middle of the desert with perfect views for stargazing. Right at the entrance to the longer grey desert track. The staff is very nice and helpful!

The staff only speaks Spanish, so if you don’t know basic Spanish you will struggle a lot more. Also the tour we did with Jose was only Spanish. It’s nothing bad - just something you need to be aware of! Also it will be a 45 minute ride by tuk tuk or car from Villavieja do get there. It’s easily available for 80.000 COP per trip.

The owner, the family, the view, the tiny houses, the meals, the service - everything was perfect… The owners were very helpful during our stay, helping us to navigate to all places we liked to visit. The atmosphere at the accomodation is very welcoming, relaxed and the view is absolutely amazing… also a perfect veranda to watch the stars at night. We enjoyed every single bit during our stay!

"Lovely stay in the nature ☺️"

People here are so friendly! The shared bathrooms were clean and the little hut we slept in was really lovely. Feels really relaxed here. If you look for a quiet place in the nature, this is perfect. Only 2kms from Desierto Gris.

A little far from Desierto Rojo but nothing a mototaxi can’t handle :)
