Kenttäniemi Cottages

L endroit est fabuleux, loin de tout au bord d un lac. Nous y étions en hiver et avons eu la chance d assister au spectacle des aurores boréales. C etait de toute beauté. Le chalet est très confortable, nous avions le petit parfait pour deux personnes. Nous avons également ete visiter la ferme des Rennes avec Jussi qui est tres sympathique et prend le temps de nous expliquer et de discuter. Nous avons pu acheter également de leur production. Bref un incontournable proche de Rovaniemi.

This cottage is absolutely perfect! We wanted a taste of real Lapland and were not disappointed, the location is outside of the hustle and bustle of the city - down a track and next to a lake (which was frozen), with amazing vista views across it - with clear view to any Northern Lights that may occur (we weren't that lucky). The facilities are spot on - comfy beds for the whole family, a small kitchen for essential meals - plenty of storage for outdoor clothing, bathroom and sauna! \They even had Christmas lights up on the outside which made it magical. The best feature was the helpful hosts and the fact we were next to a reindeer farm - for a reasonable fee - we have a 2 hour visit with the family to feed the reindeer and get really close to them - learning all about how they're reared and cared for. Sanna-Mari was a fountain of knowledge on all things Reindeer and Finland - a wonderful host. My two children loved the reindeer farm and the fact we could let them out to play in the snow - knowing that it was a safe environment. We also had access to a Grillikota - a barbeque hut, where we could grill food - or in our case, roast marshmallows in the cold night. I cannot recommend this place enough for a true Finnish welcome

Amazing view by a lake far out from Rovaniemi.

Preciosa cabaña en mitad de un bosque de pinos. Tiene todo lo necesario para una estancia agradable. Realizamos la visita a la granja de renos, muy recomendable! Los anfitriones fueron muy amables y nos ayudaron con un pequeño problema que tuvimos, volveremos!

Prachtige en rustige plaats waarbij je vanaf het bevroren meer prachtig het noorderlicht kan zien. Wij zaten in de kleine hut en alles was dan ook aan de kleine kant maar zeker doenbaar met twee.

Op zich was alles uitstekend.

The location in the forest with Aurora sky views over the frozen lake is amazing. The cottage itself is beautiful and had everything we needed. Also the visit to the reindeer farm of the owners was an amazing experience. Sanna Mari provided us all the information about the farm and the reindeers. We had the best time ever and we would love to come back.

Nothing

The location is stunning, and the cottage had everything we could need with the Aurora right on the doorstep. Exactly what we were after, a beautiful, comfortable, cozy escape without the glitz and glamour. The sauna before bed was perfect.

Did have an issue with the power on the first night, which we believe was being tripped from the kitchenette circuit. It was resolved by the following morning but we were weary of putting on more than 2 devices at a time.

A cozy cottage in the heart of nature. Beautiful view of the lake. Peaceful location.
