The Lunar Ray

Nice fairly private position. Hot tub was very clean and worked well. Lodge facilities were good and was clean. A short drive from Morpeth, a really nice place with a good Indian, the Manzil and a superb Indian takeaway, Morpeth Tandoori. A good weather spoons. Also close to other nice places, Rothbury and Alnwick.

Small bar on site was closed for repair works. Crazy horse bar on sister site, a short walk was expensive.

Very close to A1 so easy to find. Owner was responsive by phone. Good pre arrival information - key code etc. Clean toilet and shower.

General poor cleanliness of lodge and soft furnishings - stain on curtains, dirty blinds, bobbly bedding, dust on most surfaces, ornaments coated in thick dust, dining chairs wobbly. Kitchen in need of deep clean - glasses stuck to cupboard bottom, dirty cooker and cutlery drawers. No kitchen bin or space in kitchen cupboards to put anything. No space in Bedroom to put clothes (apart from 3 drawers) - cupboards / wardrobes full of spare bedding and duvets, DIY items, Christmas decorations, spare bed and cot, hoover and cleaning equipment. Thermostat in hall hanging off the wall. Outside area in need of tidying up - weeds etc. WiFi none existent. Toilets difficult to flush. As a result of the above we didn't stay at the property (owner was responsive).

Very good location

The hot tub was nice, furniture and decorations were tasteful. Rooms were very generously sized and lots of storage space. A bottle of fizz was a nice welcome gift. Good quality bed linens. Plenty of pots, pans and tableware available.

The caravan needs a deep clean. Unfortunately it was very dusty, there were hairs from previous guests and there are stains on the curtains and walls. The kettle was extremely grimey and there were massive cobwebs and dust on all of the decorations and little knick knacks. Some of the mugs had been put away without being washed and had dirty coffee stains all inside them. I could forgive a little bit of dust but the cleanliness was way below standard. The glass door was filthy and the blinds need replacing as they are very mucky. The drains in the shower need clearing as the shower tray fills up with water and drains very slowly.

Location was perfect fir all facilities

The property was beautiful and cosy

There is no gating around the decking or hot tub to stop the little one constantly running off
