The Arboreal Resort

Views from the room are truly fantastic!

Its a brand new resort with excellent location. Rooms are very clean and well maintained. It offers exquisite view with plush green surrounding. Breakfast is decent enough with multiple options which you don't regret. You should take a cab to travel to the resort.

Resort is fairly new, The rooms, dining area and the path which leads to it is kept in a clean state. Prompt and energetic staff. Best part is the view, if u dont want to spend lots of money to visit Bali (Ubud), u can head here and get the same feeling. Surroundings are out of this world. There are few treks which we couldnt take, but could be worthwhile.Sound of the nearby waterfall and nature! This place is run by 1 man army called Oscar who is practically doing all the heavy lifting. Its good for couples without kids and possibly for a writer struggling with the ending of his novel.

Resort staff has not declared certain things properly which probably someone heading to this place needs to know. 1, There is a lot 5Kms severe off road stretch which u will have to take in resorts pickup truck, hence commute to and from the resort is a challenge. 2, All rooms are raised above ground level and have to take minimum several steps, May be 30-40 easily if u get room on the top floor. 3, The pool (which is more like a pond) (specially during monsoon) has lot of bugs. Interested residents can however still take a dip. 4, No other recreation facility 5, Passage to dining area was inadequately lit and is basically slabs of stones kept one after another. 6, No rest rooms near the dining area, only rest rooms residents have are in their room. 7, For insects the room doors need to be closed at night, however since the washroom is partly open to nature with no net/mesh, flys and insects still find their way in. 8, Area around the accomodation block and meal area is pure jungle and isn't developed at all, no landscaping done, No proper walkway. This is probably due to some clearances from govt which still pending. To sum up, Kids and Senior citizens will have issues due to above mentioned reasons. It's basically for someone who likes to be in nature and likes to be in the room for most of the time. Resort owner should spend some more time to declare the facts in detail so that travellers are better informed and to avoid any unpleasant review from uninformed travellers. FYI, if u love your car even a bit, Listen to Oscar and use the pickup truck for the last 5kms off road stretch. Reaident cars can be parked at their parking area off the road. Staff other than Oscar are a bit clueless. Need more training.
