Vedic Dham Ganga

Location was excellent. The back side of Dham opened up to the ghat where you can easily get into the Ganges. In the evening there was Arti held, and in the night, the vibe was great as you could spot some guitarists playing beautiful melodies. The popular “Freedom cafe” is just a stone throw away. Food was decent. It isn’t a regular standard hotel but a more traditional ashram like place.

The cleanliness isn’t up to the mark. With the amount of money we paid, we expected better. We stayed for two nights and no one cared to clean the room or change the towels, etc. We booked Deluxe room with river view and were allocated a lower category room without any river view. Although we were charged for river view category room but at the time of check in, we were told that there is no availability. The room pictures during the booking were completely different than the actual room that we were given. The room was tiny, the bathroom was tinier. There was no geyser for hot water and there was no view from the room. It was a total disappointment. We did not have a choice but to take what ever was allocated. The rooms are also noisy. There was a big group who checked in late at night and had no consideration to other guests who were sleeping. They were loud and very noisy. They started playing loud songs on speaker early in the morning. The dham staff also did not take any measures to quieten this group for the sake of other guests who were staying.

Vedic Dham needs more photos to show the expansiveness of the Family Room. I loved the access to the balcony and the Ganga River. The delicious food is served for breakfast.

For the price (6500 inc tax) it is overpriced. It is basically an Ashram kind of a property with very limited facilities. The pictures posted are true yet misleading. The room opens to a balcony which is actually a common area thus restricts privacy. The food served with attitude as it is a free meal being doled. One side opens to a public area Ghat.

The staff were really nice and made me feel at home. The yoga and meditation sessions were so relaxing, and the food was delicious and healthy. It was a truly special experience that left me feeling refreshed and happy.

Fun Experience. Rooms were clean . Food was yummy and tasty . Beautiful view of the surroundings from rooms.
