Vaal Marina Resort

Our recent stay at Vaal Marine Resort left much to be desired. We booked a private villa with a pool for R2 000, expecting a serene retreat with all the promised amenities. However, the reality fell far short of our expectations. Firstly, the pool was a major disappointment. Not only was it dirty, but it was also ice-cold, rendering it unusable. The lack of maintenance was also evident. There were 3 mops and other cleaning supplies next to the pool - which I'm pretty sure the cleaners left there. Despite the listing boasting of breathtaking views of the lake and mountains, our villa offered no such spectacle. We were met with a mundane scenery that hardly lived up to the advertised promises. The lack of basic amenities was baffling. There was neither water nor ice in the fridge, leaving us unable to cool our beverages. The absence of WiFi was another inconvenience. The on-site cafe was closed throughout our stay, depriving us of the opportunity to purchase refreshments or any food. This unexpected closure left us feeling without anything to eat. The final straw was the rude customer service provided by the reception staff. The individual we encountered was not only rude but also unhelpful. For the exorbitant price we paid, we expected a level of quality and service that was sorely lacking. Regrettably, we cannot recommend this establishment to fellow travelers and advise caution to those considering booking here.

The unit we stayed in had its own private POOL in it,everything was clean and the staff was super helpful and friendly! The unit is a short walk away from the waters edge and there’s an outdoor pool,jungle gym and table tennis that families can keep themselves busy with-as well as braai facilities right in front of our room! Myself,boyfriend and my dad had a super time and we will definitely be back soon!

The convenience store could’ve been a little more stocked,but there is a shop a km up the road to get what you need.

Affordability only which came at a cost

Dirty pool, no water sports as stated,entertainment room unkept with old and broken pool table, and on check out be ready to be checked like a thief. They count even spoons, make sure u don't lose or misplace anything even the smallest of things in the room

Very dirty bed Linen Door knob off in one room? No salad bowls No dish up spoons Not much kitchen stuff with 1960 pots/pans with broken handles? Think there are bed bugs biting you. Still itching a week later Shop only sells fishing equipment and get 10 bags ice a day??? Gaming room needs attention. * Fridge door is kept closed with two bricks? Chalet 12 OVER PRICED!!!!!!!!! PAID R13 000 FOR 4 X NIGHTS ON 23 TO 27 DEC 2023, SHOCKING AS THE INFO AND PICTURES ON WEBSITE ARE VERY DECEIVING. RESORT ACCOMODATION IN VERY BAD CONDITION!!!! Cleaners dont clean outside patio or wooden table daily? Very unpleasant!
