Gibbon Retreat Bentong

I love how I enjoyed the place despite it was raining whole day. A place very close to nature. Truly healing. Staff is friendly and attentive. The kitchen utensils provided is good to cook around.

I booked Pool View Chalet. It cost me Rm330. I was quite disappointed on the facilities and cleanliness in the room. The room was kinda dusty and just occupied with bed,mini fridge and 2 hangers with towels. No ventilation fan or air conditioner so feeling kinda warm and suffocated at night. Quite difficult to get ready yourself because there is no mirror even. There is only small mirrors in the toilet. Very much less for the amount paid. Toilet was quite uneasy for me as there is musty smell despite scent sprayed many times. No proper cleaning and toilet was moldy literally everywhere especially on the shower curtain. Please focus more on this. Saying it in a positive note because the place was amazing.

It's very soothing staying here. Unfortunately it rained the whole night disrupting our plan to go hiking on trail. But we managed to see gibbons early in the morning which is a plus! A lot of friendly dogs especially if you have food. Also a plus, you can order grab food & frozen durians here. Caretakers & cleaners are friendly.

The caretaker was very responsive. And the chalets are separated by some distance, which give a very good privacy. Most of the things you need for your meal making are prepared too, overall it was a great spot for a weekend getaway.

This is definitely a good place to go if you're seeking a quiet getaway with your loved ones. It is nestled in the middle of the jungle. You get your own privacy as each chalet is located far apart from each other. The place is pet friendly, staffs are friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out procedures are simple. Basic cooking utensils are provided as well, you can make your own meals while staying there.

I like the natural location of the retreat, in a rainforest. It was nice and quiet and calm. The lodge was not luxurious but it had everything we needed for a stay there, all necessary cooking equipment was there and you just need to bring food there to cook, although the fridge was a mini fridge only so do not bring too much perishables. We knew that so brought mostly dried and canned food, etc. A hotpot was provided and an electric kettle... The resident dogs were very quiet and well trained although they did their work to "bark" at the monkeys who ventured to come near our lodge for food. The dogs never dared to enter the gates even when invited in, only sleeping at the doorsteps and they followed us whenever we walked out, maybe to guide us back if we ever get lost, it seemed. It was hot and humid in the afternoon but turned quite cooling and windy at night surprisingly.

There were some mosquitoes as expected but the lodging already prepared for us insecticides and mosquito coils which were very thoughtful. We had some insect nest growing outside our unit but the property helpers immediately came and helped us get rid of it once they were informed. Again, very helpful workers there... Thank you! A pity there was a quarry outside the forest area, but it was not noisy and was invisible to us. Only when entering and exiting did we see it. Hopefully, it will not expand and spoil this wonderful sanctuary. hope to come back again!
