Breve Azurine Lagoon Resort

I am sure the hotel was really good some years ago, but now they need renovation...and also, improving their F&B options.

The hotel needs a renovation , maybe it is because we went there on low season...but it felt really old and not updated at all.

Breve Azurine is everything it said it would be. We felt totally relaxed. The views from our cottage were amazing. With a troop of apes nearby, a kingfisher feeding off rocks by the beach and bats swooping to take water from the pool whilst we were swimming in it, nature was all around us. It was bliss.

The booking process was tortuous. We had to pay a deposit in advance and we could only pay it in the local currency, which caused problems for me trying to cope with the bureaucracy.

It was a great location with friendly helpful staff. It’s actually very walkable to other local bars and restaurants aswell.

The pool was out of order for the entire stay

Great location and beach, service was perfect, the room and the main house are very clean and beautiful.

The location/ setting was incredible. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable with incredible views. The restaurant waiting staff was lovely.

The food is mediocre and there was a strong rotting smell coming from the bathroom sink. Absolutely impossible to get a tax receipt from them which is very suspicious. They told us at check out that the credit card machine was broken and requested cash (again suspicious), with no pre-warning, asking us to go into town & come back, which we refused. Overcharged travel arrangements, arranged travel on the incorrect days/ time & miss calculated the total amount due requesting even more money on day of departure when at the ferry station (of course requesting cash).

Stunning view, the room was great lovely wood building with fantastic terrace overlooking the sea. We loved the room was not modern, but traditional style which made it very cosy and you feel like you a far away. The room was absolutely huge and had everything we needed and more :) It even has it's own dressing area! Wifi was excellent. We liked being able to borrow the canoes and snorkels, it was great the property had a beach front which was clean, and maintained by staff. Staff were excellent, very polite and helpful and they keep the hotel and surrounding beach clean.

The dinner could have been better, we were disappointed as it was very bland and aside from the rice the portions were small. Tissues or napkins would be great if they offered them when you are eating. Probably napkins to avoid more rubbish on the island. Apart from this the hotel is great, if the food was better, better potions and tastier the hotel would deserve 10/10. There are not so many places to eat on the island which are easily accessible so it is important to have tasty good enjoyable meals at the hotel. We went outside the hotel to eat as we were not enjoying the food there- and we are not fussy eaters. But it was not horrible food- just bland and we preferred to eat outside.
