Wild Wadi Wilpattu - Villas with private Plunge Pools

De locatie is echt fantastisch! ’s Ochtends word je wakker met uitzicht op apen, geiten en allerlei vogels. Wij verbleven in cabin 505, vanwaar je mooi uitkijkt op een klein meertje. Bij aankomst werden we bovendien heel hartelijk ontvangen. De cabins zijn ruim en comfortabel. Houd er wel rekening mee dat je buiten niets kunt laten staan vanwege de apen ook schoenen voor de deur worden niet aangeraden.

We voelden ons direct welkom, maar het was Harsha die ons verblijf (en de rest van onze vakantie) onvergetelijk maakte. Hij nam ons mee voor een wandeling rondom het terrein waarbij we een olifant en talloze vogels spotten, en zelfs tussen de koeien terechtkwamen — een prachtig stukje echte natuur. Wat ons echt heeft ontzorgd, is dat Harsha daarna het vervoer voor de rest van onze vakantie heeft geregeld. Voor PickMe-prijzen kregen we telkens Engelssprekende, voorzichtig rijdende chauffeurs. Dit gaf ons zoveel rust! De villa’s met eigen plunge pool zijn een luxe traktatie midden in de wildernis en het eten was elke dag weer een feestje van verse, lokale smaken. Als je op zoek bent naar een plek waar je niet alleen de natuur beleeft, maar ook volledig in de watten wordt gelegd door oprechte mensen, dan is dit de plek.

Wild Wadi Wilpattu is a wonderful base for visiting the beautiful national park. We stayed for two nights. After arrival, we immediately took a refreshing dip in the private plunge pool at our cottage. Various excursions can be booked at the accommodation. In the afternoon, we took a boat trip through the mangroves and enjoyed a stunning sunset. The next day, we went on a fantastic safari. Both days were with the same excellent guide. Food and drinks were well taken care of. In the evening, the BBQ with fish and crab is highly recommended :) We had a truly lovely stay.

Wild Wadi Wilpattu heeft ons een fantastische ervaring gegeven hier. Het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De Safari gids zat bij het hotel in en had alles tip top voor elkaar!

All the staff were friendly and welcoming ; very accommodative; The manager Harsha was very helpful and knowledgeable ; Though I didn’t meet Manori in person , from the moment I booked, she communicated with welcoming messages, info about the property and facilities and arranged transport, safari etc. Even though she was on holidays, she responded promptly. I felt welcomed Property blended with nature and eco friendly. Close to national park entrance Had their own naturalist Priyashantha who was quite knowledgeable about the wildlife

The staff at Wild Wadi were fantastic and the food we were served was absolutely delicious. I know they were badly impacted by the cyclone, and had worked very hard to get back on their feet ahead of our arrival.

I think the term "luxury" is misused in this setting, whilst I understand the setting for this is wild, I think luxury is a stretch, the rooms and bathrooms were very basic. I understand that they were badly impacted by the cyclone, but the original set up of the accommodation didn't meet the luxury standard even prior to this terrible disaster.

Very nice resort and very nice owners, that took us for a walk to the entrance of the national park where we aready saw a lot of wildlife.
