Greenwood safari camp

Greenwood safari camp is well located right at the entrance to Talek Gate of the Maasai Mara. The cabin was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Magdy and the team were so lovely and hospitable, ensuring that all our needs were met. Special shout out to the Chef who prepared the most delicious dinners!

La experiencia no pudo ser mejor. Magdi nos acogió genial y toda la gente del Greenwood nos trató muy bien, Dixson, Victoria, la cocinera que nos hacía unos platos riquísimos... Y Alex, nuestro driver Masai para el safari, el mejor. Es un sitio ideal para alojarse si vais a ir al Masai Mara però también para visitar Talek, un pequeño pueblo con gente maravillosa. No perdáis la oportunidad de pasear por sus calles, conocer cómo se vive allí y comprar algún recuerdo.

Very close to Maasai Mara and the owner can organise your safari tour as well as a hot air balloon experience!! And they have wild animals that meander through occasionally, which is lovely. And a beautiful,sweet calico!!!!!

Nothing to complain about.

Everything was incredible! From Magdy’s warm reception and help getting to the place, to everyone who works there. The food was delicious, the tents were amazing, they have a campfire you can enjoy at night, and above all the staff’s willingness to help and make you feel welcome I highly recommend it!

This place is a true gem. Magdy and his staff provide excellent service and are very approachable, offer individualized requests (also short notice), and give you the feeling your needs are always taken care of. No overselling, no promises that can't be kept - just fantastic service. Friendly, authentic, just nice people. The location is outstanding, close to the talek gate, and reserve in general. You have animals as neighbors, never threatening, and staff takes care. Peaceful bonfire place at night. The tents are all you need after a well organized long safari, the beds are great. I'm not sure if there is anything Magdy can't organize in Talek area (and beyond, when it's about transport). You won't regret having booked this place.

We liked everything.

I am very lenient and I'll give this accommodation a 7 out of 10. The reasons are the following: the stuff is very polite and especially Penina and Dixon who run the kitchen doing their best - the food was very close to my tastes. The camp is located just outside one of the gates of the national park, so this is very convenient for the game drives. Our room was not big, but it was nicely decorated. A plus was the mosquito net in the bed.

From the moment we arrived, the Owner assigned Alex to be our driver for the next three days we were staying in the camp. In the first day we did a visit in the masai village and later a half day safari. The girlfriend of the driver was in the car all day but this was not something bothered us, even if we didn't get asked for. In the second day we did a full day safari. This time his girlfriend didn't come. We started at 05:40am according with the schedule, we went in the national park, but as we were unlucky, after 20 minutes we got stuck in the mud. We remained stucked in the middle of nowhere for more than 1,5 hours where 2 other cars came and helped us get off the mud. So, we lost all the sunrise and the action of animals that is happening in this supper early hours. The rest of the day we managed to see so many animals, we dont have a complaint about that, but I have to say that this guy Alex, is bored yo death with his job. He speaks all the time in his mobile, in all of my videos of the animas, there is his voice speaking in his language for no reason. He was sleeping all day. Even at 10am we was falling asleep in every stop we were doing. He doesn't explains nothing without asking him. On our third day, we supposed to have another full day safari, so at 05:30am we were at the reception ready to go. The time was passing, we expressed our concerns and pur complaint to the owner of the hotel and he was trying to justify Alex. After 1,,5 hour of waiting, at 07:00am Alex shown like nothing was happening. We had already lost all the sunrise again. In the meantime the owner managed to find another driver who came at 07:00am and we did the safari with him. But the point is that we went for only 3 days, we spent more that 2.000 dollars in total and in the end we didn't manage to see the sunrise inside the park. This is unacceptable, we were not offered anything as compensation.

Super lokalizacja, miły personel. Wieczorem na Camping przychodzą Hipopotamy, extra sprawa. Mozecie tez pojechac na Safari, wystarczy tylko zapytac w recepcji.

Victoria, Dixon and Dan was amazing! Really nice people. We are not the best costumers, because we travel on a budget, but the place have all that you need to have the best experience! Thanks to the creew!
