Lovely clean property. Location great for exploring

Owners were friendly and responded very quickly to messages. Accommodation was lovely, had everything in there that you would need,also great that it's dog friendly! lovely surroundings areas to explore.

Not much to do on the site, there's no shop on site but not much of an issue for us as we could drive to amenities in 15-20mins.

The furnishings were lovely, it had most of what you’d need for a break away with a family. The location was perfect to get on to the A1 and see area! The country park was lovely and quiet, it had a small play park too for younger children which was perfect for ours.

On arrival the property did not look like it had been cleaned. There were marks in the sink from food, the floors were really crumby and full of pet hair, the shower had lots of hairs in and the bed sheets were wrinkled and bobbled almost as if they had been slept in. They all also had lots of black human hair and animal hair. There were few cleaning facilities to hand but no hoover which I feel is detrimental especially in a pet friendly accommodation.

We stayed throughout the Christmas period. Hedgehope is a lovely, comfortable cosy unit. It was decorated for Christmas & had a very homely feel. It was lovely and warm with easy to operate controls to keep it at a comfortable temperature. The hosts left us a lovely welcome hamper and Christmas crackers. It has a supply of the basics toilet roll cleaning items, etc, which is an added bonus. It has a great shower, no issues with hot water, and great water pressure. They contacted us the day before offering for us to check in a day early. This was a lovely Christmas surprise and gave us the opportunity to travel later on the Sunday when the roads were quiet and avoid the next days busy Christmas traffic. With friendly hosts, a lovely, warm, comfortable unit with high spec furnishings. We had a very relaxing peaceful stay. Hedgehope is definitely a winner

There is nothing negative about hedgehope retreat As for the park, it is very remote, nothing much around unless you travel by car. We we're aware of this, so it didn't bother us but be prepared to take all you need with you there is no onsite shop and a torch is very handy for walking around at night. There is an onsite pub serving food, but the hours are quite limited out of season.

Well equipped and owners went to the trouble of putting up lovely Christmas decorations for us.

Pub nearby not open perhaps a out of season?

The lodge was lovely very spacious for our family - towels and bed linen provided was a bonus

No cleaning equipment such as washing up liquid, anti vac spray or wipes to clean up.
